This is the line of succession to Runestone and the Vale of Royce:
1) Brandon Royce 2) Rhodri Royce 3) Robert Royce 4) Jon Royce
And as Rhodri said, his control over the Vale is shared with me and Lilith, and his control over Storm's End is not as assured as it once was.

Ahem. 1) Brandon Royce (presumed dead) 2) Rhodri Royce 3) Yohn Royce 4) Saella Royce 5) Sara Royce 6) Robert Royce 7) Jon Royce In Westeros, daughters inherit before Uncles. (ie, Cersei is Tywin's heir to Casterly, not Kevan). And you forgot Yohn entirely.

Oops, sorry about Yohn. And I forgot entirely about the girls, thinking it was just in Dorne. But now I remember the Cersei thing.

Then Lilith has to be there after Ser Robert, and I'm at the end after Jon.

Hi! I'm hoping to be a new player starting in the Stormlands.
I was wondering if there is a summary of events so far? I read a bunch of the messages posted and have gotten the idea that there are at least three factions vying for the throne: Targaryen, Baratheon and Dondarrion.
What claim does Dondarrion have to the throne?
It sounds like the Royces currently hold Storm's End. How did this come to pass? Which king do they owe fealty to? Do the smallfolk and lesser lords now serve the Royces or still prefer the Baratheons?
Who holds Dragonstone these days?

Long story Jason. This thread helps out somewhat www.lordsofwesteros.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1182615509Basically in this storyline, Cersei's incest was found out and Edric Baratheon was legitimised by Robert. Rodrick Baratheon was king when this first started but he was overthrown by lords Royce (the Arryns are extinct), Lannister and Dondarrion with the help of Aegon Targaryen IX (Dany's descendant) and his dragon. Dondarrion married into the Targ line (that's his claim to kingship), Callen is the heir to Rodrick and has been living in exile since the overthrowing of his house and Aedon slaughtered his own brothers to stake a claim for the throne, so here we are! After the inital war, Rhodri Royce (a distant cousin of the Vale Royces) was given Storms End for his services but Dondarrion was Lord Paramount of the Stormlands. I have no idea who currently holds Dragonstone, probably someone from the Targ line I guess.

Playing as Seaworth might be an issue because there is a Seaworth already as a major character's "Second". But I'll give you the background.
House Dondarrion's claim is actually a Targaryen one. Lord Michael Dondarrion's mother was a Targrayen and he is cousin to Aedon Targaryen, one of his rivals for the throne. Dondarrion had been Hand six years prior and led a rebellion in the Targaryen name to end Baratheon rule. Now, Aedon his brother, King Aemon, and he and Dondarrion fight over the throne.
In the meantime, the deposed Baratheon is trying to gather allies to reclaim Westeros for his family.
As for the Royces, we sided with Lord Michael Dondarrion and the Targaryen invaders in the first war and Storm's End was a gift to us as a reward. Officially, Lord Rhodri Royce owed fealty to King Aemon but he has yet to declare for one of the new Three Kings.
The lesser lords of the Stormlands were never sworn to the Royces, Lord Michael Dondarrion became Lord Paramount when the Baratheons were chased. Most of the Stormlords are loyal to him.

I am not a distant cousin of the Vale Royces. I AM the Vale Royce . Lord Alyn Royce of Runestone was my father at the start of the game, my elder brother Breyn inherited the Vale when he died and so Rhodri took Storm's End. With Breyn dead, Lord Rhodri is currently lord of both Storm's End and the Vale.

Everything above has been well said but I might remind you that Aemon is dead, Rhodri :-P Now, Aedon his brother, King Aemon, and he and Dondarrion fight over the throne.

I think organizationally for the board it would be better if the different regional forums were named for their region rather than their castle. For instance, the forum named "Runestone" should be named "The Vale", and the forum named "Highgarden" should be named the Reach. I say that because that is how we're using those forums; for "Highgarden", we've got the Rose Road, we've got Cider Hall, etc. For "Storm's End" we have Grandview, Mistwood, the Kingswood...that would be better named "The Stormlands". It's most confusing with the fact we have separate forums for "Riverrun" and "Raventree Hall". Which one should get various Riverland locations? Those two should be merged into "The Riverlands". Those regional terms are of course very familiar to readers of the books so I don't think it would cause any confusion.
