OOC: Sorry for putting you through so much work in a holiday week! Barring any more PC or PC henchmen entries, I only have one set of challengers left in mind (a few Stormlanders) before the 2nd day of the tourney is done (leaving only the Contest of Champions and the Melee).
It'll happen when it can happen. Until then, we'll feast.

I will be entering the Melee as well (presuming I don't get my brains bashed in beforehand!) as will the captain of my personal guard, Ser Eddard Peake.

It appears that we may have a mystery knight entering the melee.
ETA: Yep, a mystery knight known as the The Knight of the Moon rides for the Vale. His shield is black, with a white crescent moon on it.

Ser Kit Kidwell will live but he will be unable to fight in the melee, as he is still healing.

OOC: I would like to wrap up the jousting before we all focus on the melee. Any PC or PC-henchmen characters that want to make a challenge should do so ASAP so we can move on without anyone feeling left out. I know Baldwin entered three men as challengers, and I had three in mind (but I'll drop them if people would rather move on).
It looks like (from the Division of Admin duties) that it'll be the Stranger who determines the final jousting results. So for the Strangers benefit, here's a reminder of the current setup:
We are on Day 2 of the Joust. The Champions are declared at the end of Day 2, and will Challenge each other on Day 3 for an ultimate winner. The melee will also take place on Day 3.
The Champions:
Warren Blackwood Ser Robert Royce Donal Tyrell Ser Giles Grandison
(Kit Kidwell retired from the lists)
Challengers: Ser Syward Spicer vs. Blackwood Ser Vikter Jast vs. Donal Tyrell Ser Timm Vikary (Kingsguard) vs. Ser Robert Royce
Three Stormland Knights await the victors to determine whom to challenge, and as of yet no additional challengers have announced themselves.

Question: In the melee, do you strike your chosen opponent's shield like in the joust, or do you just run in and attack somebody?

I guess we just randomly choose the nearest person in sight and hit him as hard as we can.

In a melee, you just rush in and start fighting. Sometimes in is done in teams, sometimes it's every man for himself -- any preferences?

My preference would be every man for himself although I'm sure they're be some teaming up going on, probably in family/kingdom type factions. It'll be interesting how it is decided though, especially in cases where there's basically multiple opponents all over the place. It won't be 1 vs 1 until the very end!

Family teams sound good, because I think that simple deathmatch would be too hard to control.
