The grounds of Storm's End were greatly prepared for one of the most fantastic tourneys in recent memory. All sorts of knights from all sorts of locations were present in their best armor and weapons. As the crowds became wild with anticipation, Lord Rhodri Royce stood up and began to speak...

The trumpets sound again, and Lord Rhodri Royce, in his box above the lists, announce that the games shall begin, and asks who has come to challenge the champions of Storm's End.
Five challenge poles, one newly assembled, line one side of the lists. Whoever at the end of the tourney stands among the champions will earn a new heraldic honor and a great prize, one for each of the four original challenge posts. The fifth post has no heraldic honor or prize, but the hardest foe. Victory over him would be honor enough.
In the end, the five champions will face each other to determine the best lance in Westeros, and the right to name the Queen of Love and Beauty.
The Shields of the five champions of Storm's End:
Three Brass Buckles on a Blue Field. The final Champion of this position shall be called the Knight of the Greatshield, and win a finely wrought ceremonial shield.
A White Shield, known to belong to Ser Garrett Estermont, a Stormlander and member of the Kingsguard. The final Champion of this position shall be called the Knight of the Greathelm, and win a finely wrought greathelm.
Three Stalks of Yellow Wheat on a Brown Field. The final Champion of this position shall be called the Knight of the Blade, and win a finely wrought gold and ruby greatsword.
A Black Lion sleeping in a Field of Yellow. The final Champion of this position shall be called the Knight of the Silver Spurs, and win silver spurs and a great, charging Destrier.
The fifth pole bears a shield of creeping green ivy on a black field.
"Lord, sers, riders: who amongst you will challenge these great champions of Storm's End! Who will ride first in this great tournament!"
The challenger is to strike the shield of his chosen foe with a lance.

Two challengers ride into the lists, Lord Cerdric Hasty, with his purple and white shield, and Ser Tomas Clegane, with his three dogs. Hasty strikes upon the Black Lion, and Clegane challenges the Whitecloak.

The Bastard Castellan of Riverrun, Ser Samwise Waters steps forward, choosing the Three Brass Buckles.
ooc: im a little confused here, can you explain the format with a little more detail?

ooc: Have you read the Hedge Knight? The tourney starts with, in this case, five champions. It's their shields on the poles. Each challenger chooses which champion to challenge. If the challenger wins, he takes the place of the champion, and his shield is placed on the pole, and new challengers can challenge him. At the end of the tourney, the five remaining champions will face each other (or yield if too injured to continue) to determine the ultimate winner. However, all of the final champions receive an honor.
Does that make sense?
IC: Ser Garrett Estermont, clad in white, appears to face Tomas Clegane, and Ser Giles Grandison rides out to face his friend and rival Lord Hasty. Grandison's horse is clad from head to tail in black and gold barding, and a sleeping lion crests his helm.
Ser Brandon Buckler, the Stormshield, arrayed in a blue enameled armor, rides forth from his pavilion to face the Bastard of Riverrun.
ETA: Crake, you can either PM me the results and I'll write them up and post them or you can post them directly yourself.

ooc: i havent read it. But i understand now, thanks for the explanation.
Ser Samwise, wearing battered yet reliable looking steel armour, rides to meet Buckler. The bastard licks his lips at the prospect of a fight, and grips his lance firmly.

OOC: I need specific orders for each combatant before I post results.

OOC: I need specific orders for each combatant before I post results. ooc: we're only using this thread then? Ser Samwise Rivers spurs his horse forward, and it gallops into the direction of Buckler. He keeps his Lance aiming to the right of his opponent, before at the last second attempting to swing it past his opponents shield, while keeping his own shield steady.

OOC: I need specific orders for each combatant before I post results. OOC: What about fights between 2 characters that are purely NPCs? Can we just know who wins? IC: The Stormshield spurs his horse, and rides with his lance tip low. He brings it up under Rivers' shield, at the hip, at the last moment. He knows that is a common weak spot and an easy way to knock a man from his saddle.

The Stormshield wheels his horse around, ready to ride again. The Bastard seemed to cover his midsection well, so this time the Stormshield looks to drive the point of his lance through the Bastard's lance shoulder.

The Stormshield VS. Rivers Stormshield: 114 Bastard of Riverrun: 131 The Bastard of Riverrun scores a minor hit on the Stormshield. The bastard succeeds in passing Buckler's shield, but to his annoyance only lands a glancing blow on his opponents arm, drawing blood, but little else. This time Rivers decides to go for the finish, and charges his opponent, aiming directly for the groin area, while feinting lifting his lance up.

The Stormshield tamps down his rising frustration. He has fought and defeated sterner foes than this lickspittler from the the Riverlands. Again he spurs his horse, looking to edge above the Bastard's shield and strike him clean from his horse.
OOC: While we're RPing this fight between two major henchmen, can we just have final results for Clegane vs. Estermont and Hasty vs. Grandison? Then when Stormshield vs. Bastard is resolved I can post that back in the Tourney Grounds thread for the "viewers".

Ser Samwise swears in anger as his blow is deflected, drawing the looks of some more delicate women present. He lowers his helm, and curses Buckler, trying to put him off his guard.
He charges Buckler again, this time attempting to drive his enemies shield into his body, and thereby knocking him off. It is a ploy he has used successfully before.
