The epic bard Symond rides alongside Tallahar, his family, and his guard.
"This tourney will be a grand affair, I have no doubt," Symond says, "I have been writing a special song to boost your spirits before the joust, m'lord." Symond smiles mischievously. "It practically writes itself. 'Randal' rhymes so easily with 'scandal' and 'vandal'..."

Vincent is glad to be away from the North and from the Frey's especially. The Twins fair teemed with Lord Frey's offspring and progeny and their obvious dislike for each other and pompous nature had set his mind on edge and his hand on his swordhilt.
Glancing at Symond he smiles at his words and says "Thymond! You are a very droll fellow are you not? The Lannitherth have fallen far thince the murder of Lord Baldwin"

Symond smiles at Tallahar's squire. "So they have, m'lord Serry. I saw Lord Baldwin once, when he was the Hand in King's Landing. A worthy lion, they say, but his mad son and twice-traitorous cousin have done little to live up to his legacy."

Tallahar laughter was great at Symond song, "Ah a truly great song My Bard, and yes I would be at the front of the line when it came to take Randal head and I will enjoy ever second of it. But for Baldwin I never liked the man he supported the Targaryens when they returned and it was his plan for defending the that saw my Uncle Donal fall, I shall never forgive a Lannister for that."

"I am sure Lord Tallahar will," Symond agrees. "And as for myself, I'm nothing more than a simple city boy, born and bred in the Landing. And though you honor me, I am no ser. Nor am I a ther," Symond adds, unable to help himself.
"But tell me, how did you become m'lord Tallahar's squire? The Dawn Raider's skill is famed far and wide -- it must be an honor."

"I found when we went to kill Allard but then that fell through because of a traitorous man. He was sitting across from me and I asked him to speak not only did I find his lisp funny but he alright with a sword and nows how to care for a horse so I asked for him to be my squire and he accepted."
"Now about this song of your's I wish you to sing when I next joust at a Tourney agreed."

Vincent smiled shyly and said "It wath no doubt a favour to my lord father. Though I am not ath great a warrior as lord Tallahar, I can learn quickly and bring honour to my family through loyal thervice. The Therry'th have always been thtaunch thupporterth of the Tyrellth". Symond backs away slightly to avoid getting covered in spittal by Vincent's long reply.

Symond smiles, wiping off a bit of spittle that landed on his arm.
"Well then, Vincent, you are lucky to have found such a worthy man to squire for, and Lord Tallahar is fortunate to have such a devoted squire."
Symond turns to Tallahar and grins again. "Of course, m'lord. The tune is quite catchy -- all of King's Landing will be ridiculing your foes in song by the end of the tourney."

"I would rather the stick a knife in him the mock him sooner that man is dead sooner I can sleep easy at night." Tallahar says the line with cold hatred in his voice.
"Yes Vincent is a good squire but we will have to work on his sword skill soon I do not believe it is good enough."

Vincent winced slightly, remembering their last engagement and said "Yeth, ther Tallahar" somewhat unenthusiastically. His face brightened somewhat at the thought of the upcoming tourney. Perhaps he could win a small measure of glory for House Serry after all.

"Do not worry Vincent this time it will to teach you not to show off we will train at the Red Keep before the Tourney. What will you be entering Vincent."
"Also Symond shall I ask the Hand if he could announce a competition for Bards to see who the best in the land is?"

Ser Humfrey had been silent for some time. His mind wandering. He was daydreaming of the tourney and perhaps the glory he could receive because of it.
The conversation between the three brought him from his reverie.
"Aye. Bows are for cowards." He said, not meaning to sound as stupid as he did. He had never had a mind for words, or counting, or studies, only for fighting. "But a coward can kill a man easier than anyone else. A coward rarely has to look into a man's face as he kills him." His father had told him that.
His father had been a thinker and a decent fighter, as were his brothers. Lord Rojer, his eldest brother was a fine commander and tactician, His other elder brother, Albert was quite the studious man, and had achieved acclaim as a prodigy of the spear before accepting his vows as a maester. Even his younger brother, Persivall, at fifteen, had been a devious schemer and gifted swordsman before being accused of rape and choosing to take the black.
Ser Humfrey laughed then. Laughter devours fear and sadness, son. Another word of wisdom from his father.
"I will unhorse any man who dares defy me in the Joust." He said, changing subjects. "None shall fend off the attack of Ser Humfrey of Drox."
