I was planning on doing the Melee as a modification of the archery. Roll every one and people who score to low are eliminated. After the first roll like that I will allow people to guide their character into particular fights or double teams. And here would do individual combat. Then go back to the mass rolls and so on and so on until it is taken care of.
What do you think?

I think that's the best way. It gets rid of the initial rush of opponents by halfing their number after 1 round and then makes it more manageable. To help those not online when you roll them do you think it a good idea to have a "Melee plan" thread for those characters who particularly want to go after someone (Keath/Dayne)
Also do you have any thoughts on +/- bonuses for "gang-ups" e.g. Keath or "buddies" e.g. Humphrey, Symond, Tallahar & Vincent

Do you think plus five or plus ten for every buddy?
I will start a Melee plan thread right now.

Well it depends if you mean for the person they're buddying or as a whole. If it's just for the person being guarded or attacked I think +10 is ok. If it's for all the attackers/defenders, I'd say +5
e.g. Tallahar is protected by Humphrey, Vincent and Symond. In the first situation only Tallahar gets +10, the rest stay as they are as they are concentrating on defending Tallahar, not themselves. If we go down the second route, they fight like a unit so all receive a smaller bonus +5

So which are you going for?

I actually thougt both, if they are protecting someone he gets plus ten, and maybe they get negative five. But if they are all just working as a group they all get plus five.
It would depend on how they frame their orders.

Ah yes, I see. Good point about the negative 5 as well by the way.
Of course it's not massive differences either way

No but small things could change the whole outcome. Also by the way I think it is good for us to know this stuff, but I prefer to no show them the meat factory just give them the sausages.

If you want to start the Melee I think we have the basic idea done. I am falling asleep though and have to go to bed.

I'm a bit loath to start the second phase bearing in mind Emelia's "secret" instructions to you which she didn't copy me into. Bah! Wish all hers had been knocked out in the first phase
