Lord Jarrad Varner was led into Highgarden's throne room, which was packed with Tyrell house guards. He was welcomed by many of the bannermen already present, but brought in chains before Lord Tyrell who greeted the man.

"Lord Jarrad Varner. It is your duty to rule your people, and so this case is a rarity...I will judge it with my moral values for there are no laws that apply to this." Barret paused to scan the room, and took a short breath before beginning the next part of his speech.

Lord Jarrad Varner bent the knee before his liege lord.
"Lord Tyrell, my cousin, pity meeting you under such unfortunate circumstances..." He gestured towards the chains around his hands. "The Kingguard Ser Flowers said perhaps you'd like to see me?"

"I'm surely insulted that the King does not find me, or my liegelords fit to deal with their own problems...regardless, it seems that you skipped rather quickly to murder rather than allow them time to leave your lands and whatnot. How do you answer to your attacks on refugees?"

"What refugees my lord? If you mean the small army which descended upon my lands, eating my own small folk out of house and home, than I will answer that I exterminated them as I would any vermin. They stole food from my fields, which I remind milord is the same as stealing from your own table, and even the King's as well. If it would happen again I would respond the same, as would half mine in this hall, am I right?" Lord Jarrad gestured lamely for support from what few bannerman might be in the hall.

"They were starving you son of a slut." Lord Robert Hightower calls out from one of the front seats.

"Are there any others to witness what the refugees actually did on Lord Varner's lands?" Barret said as he searched the crowd of bannermen and retinue.
OOC: I think either the Smith or Francis should RP for this?

OOC: I'd suggest Callen or the Smith, since Callen interviewed the fellow refugees.
"Well apparently Old Town is so wealthy, even Lord Hightower's thieves are pleasantly plump. None the less, the crimes were on Varner lands, not Hightowers, and we don't provide such excuses for crimes."

"Shut up you shave or do you wish to fight this like men." Robert is mad at such a Lord would do that sort of thing.

"May I ask you two questions?", Barret says, almost completely rhetorically, "Firstly, do you find yourself to be guilty of any crime of any degree? Secondly, why did you not seek parlay with any small armies? If they had insisted upon combat you would have been completely justified in your actions."

"As to milord's first question. I am guilty of wasting my good lord's time on this silly issue." Jarrad glares at the Knightsguard who brought him in. "And they were brigands milord not armies, they deserved no parlay."

"Do you have any brigands kept as prisoners that can speak from the other side? I mean to strictly see this story from both sides."

And here Lord Jarrad's story came unraveled. "Uh.. not as such milord, no. I simply drove them off. You might call it exile I suppose." It came out with an inflection, like a question. "I felt justice had been done with those we caught, and it encouraged the others that there were weaker lands to plunder."

Lord Tyrell then spoke to the rest of the group, "Will someone bring some of these brigands before me? Is this possible, or have they all fled to into hiding?"

OOC: Since no one else is answering, i Can RP the refugees too.
A small group of perhaps 10 to 20 small folk is horded into Lord Tyrell's hall. a shuddering woman who seems about 75 gives a short shriek when she sees the bound Lord Varner.
"It's him.. He and his men fell on us like wolves Milord! It was terrible!"
