Jae rips his rope dart out of the man's back and turns to join the attack. He wraps the rope around him and removes two small dirks, holding one in each hand. He races into the melee.

Aethan blocked the axe-blow against his sword, pushed two steps back into his men, while the other Umbermen were soon surrounded in the press. He pushed back against the much larger man, his muscles tightening, and managed to force him back a step, blade against axe. His foe couldn't disengage easily.
"Yield," he commanded. "You and your men have lost."

"Yield? To a brigand who seeks to usurp our Lord? Never!!" he screams his rage and pushes forward, forcing Aethan to stumble backwards. A blow meant for Stone, just misses and instead imbeds itself in the head of a lackless minion. Two more of the umbermen are down, one with Jae's dirk in his neck, another with Meralla's sword in his guts, but another brigand is also dead with a further one wounded. Twig Snow hangs back from combat, his bow cocked, seeking an opening for another arrow.

"To a brigand who seek to protect your lord's people," responded Aethan, raising his blade towards the overextended Captain's throat. By now the men were surrounding the Umbermen, and Titus and Gurn came up besides Aethan, preventing the Umbermen from joining with their captain.
"Throw down your blades, or your captain dies!" he ordered the Umbermen. "More blood need not be shed this day."

The captain reluctantly lowered his axe and ordered his men to do likewise. "We will never follow a brigand" he said angrily

Aethan looked at the Captain. "Yet you allow your Lord to," he responded. "You have not seen the devastation of Knife's Edge, have you? The Bolton men kill at will. Each camp of Flayed is larger than a knight's holding, and if you try to protect your people when they come north, you'll be a rebel one way or the other."
"Take us to your lord. If he has any real bronze in his soul, he will hear my words."

Jae unfurls his rope. "Jus' sitter still, ther." He began binding the captain's hands together behind his back.

Aethan raised his hand. "No, Jae," he ordered. "I want him to come with us as a free man."

The captain looked around in disgust. "We know of the bands of bandits roaming these lands and we are not so stupid as to not think Bolton is behind it. However, we are dealing with it and need no help from such as you"

Aethan shrugged. "Whether you need it, we are here."
He looked at the Captain. "Most of my men here are desperate. They joined me because they had nowhere else to go. Those who were starving because Lord Bolton's men burned their lands. That's why I fight. But if you and your lord are too cowardly to stand for their smallfolk..." He looked at the captain flatly. "Then he may as well kill his own smallfolk, for at least then they will be killed by the man who gave the command."
"But if you can trust swords given to your hands, then take me to your lord. We would stand here."

The Umberman scowled. "I said we were dealing with the bandits. I doubt we will need your help. You appear to be of a similar ilk. I will take you to the Last Hearth but you'll not be taking those weapons when meeting Lord Trystan" he stopped the bandits protest with a glare. "Unlike your kind, our word is our bond. You will not be harmed though I sure many of you should be" He saves a special glare for Ranulf Halfpenny and spits on the ground. He knows what he is and wished he'd been among those slain. The captain organised his men to take care of the dead umbermen. They would be picked up and given a true burial once they reached Last Hearth. He did nothing about the bandit's dead.

Ryam goes to the bodies of Aethan's men that fell. He closes their eyes and moves them out of any awkward positions, and says a few words over them. Of course, the words do seem to vary widely from body to body, and anyone familiar with the Seven could tell they sure aren't standard last rites.

Titus laughs at the blood shed and afterwards he is more determind he walks up to the girl Mellara, "I want you and you want me lets go do this behind the bushes if that will help your privacy."

Aethan nodded to the Umberman. "-My- word is my bond as well, but I trust your honor and we will hand over our weapons.
"Jae, Mellara, Corvyss and Gurn will be coming with me. The rest of you stay put and don't make trouble." He looked at Twig.
"You're in charge of Titus. Make sure he doesn't go on a wild killing spree."

Titus with Mellara ignoring him walks over to Aethan and hears his order's, "I'm coming with you."
