Benedicta rode next to Marten on the road west to meet up with the army.
"Marten, weren't you jumping the banner a bit there?" she asked. "I wasn't aware we were on Piers' side yet."

Marten didn`t seem to be in good mood as they rode, but now he grinned at Emelia.
"Well, firstly, fact that we are moving forces, doesn`t mean that we are definately chosing the side, bit Piers and Horas wouldn`t likely let us to get away if we didn`t claim to support them.
Secondly, we are taking initiative, which is always good, it emphasizes that we hold influence in the West, and means that your rights as Baldwin`s daughter cannot be denied."- He glanced at Benedicta for a second, enjoying her Lannister beauty.
Thirdly, Piers Bettley has support in the West, and it would be very difficult to openly oppose him. Besides, he is friends with my father."

Benedicta nodded to Marten. "Unfortunately, being Baldwin's daughter won't get me a cup of tea if Banefort marries Jeyne. House Lannister of Casterly Rock will be succeeded by House Banefort of Casterly Rock, leaving us without much beyond sword and cunning."

"Banefort seems to be a cautious man, he knows that such move would be extremally risky. We will have to establish good relations with Sara and Jeyne, I have already started...." Marten suddenly stops, staring at his hands.
"Though with the recent blood on my hands there may be difficulties...believe me Benedicta, I didn`t wish to become Kinslayer." -He speaks in grim if regretful tone.

Benedicta looked at Marten. "It seems that kinslaying runs in the family, Marten. Randal would have killed you if you hadn't been faster. And Randal was a traitor barely better than King Allard; it seems fitting that he be cast down in turn so that the madness might end. None with sense really blame you for your actions."
"I've heard, though, that Sara and Banefort are bedding. If that's the case already, we're cooked, but I don't know if you know anything about it."

Benedicta looked at Marten. "Two Emelias," she responded. "Braavos is using a Faceless Man in Dorne, and the real one has been imprisoned in Gulltown. Though I imagine that she'll be free soon."

OOC: How did Benedicta learn that the real Emelia was in Gultown under arrest? I wasn't aware anyone knew that except Piers, Horas, and the young Ser Grafton.

OOC: Yeah. It was done in public by a full guard, thus, wasn't kept under wraps, and Benedicta put two and two together when she heard about the Princess being arrested in Gulltown, and ruling in Dorne simultaneously.

OOC: she was traveling with only Timm Dayne, and Nymeria. No one besides the lordly types know who Emelia Martell just by her look. Its not like she arrived with 50 liveried guards.

OOC: Well, I am sure that it was still big news in Gulltown, and it is enough that someone recognized her.
Marten looks at Benedicta in shock.
"What you speak of sounds like madness....but perhaps not, considering how my wife died. So I quess that Emelia`s plans to wage war against Ironborn are over?"

ooc: I still dispute that Benedicta "heard about Emelia being arrested." The only one who knew that is Dortmund Grafton, who Benedicta has not talked to. Three unknown people were arrested by a local knight, its not the stuff rumors are made of.
