Geral yelped when the septon grabbed his arm to look it over. "Hey! Fuck! That hurts!"
The third man shook his head. "You're such a daisy, Geral."
Fryse simply looked towards the group, at Rhodri and Aranya.

"Fuck the horse," Rhodri says. "Are you okay?" With all the eyes of the Vale watching her, Aranya simply nodded. Brynden was gazing around from the safety of her arms, his bright red hair glinting in the sunlight. "Come inside," Aranya said, her throat still tight. "Aunt Martina has helped make funeral preparations. I was - useless - last night." She blinked.

Rhodri glances across at sees Fryse and his men. He says to the castle steward, "See that those men have comfortable lodgings and their fill of meat and mead. None of us would be alive if not for their mettle. They are welcome here."

After Rhodri is done with the steward, he puts his arm around Aranya and walks her inside the great bronze gates of ancient Runestone.

Ser Fenric bowed and nodded at Fryse and his men. His men-at-arms helped them walk forward.

"Thank you," Aranya said. "You fought bravely, and I am grateful to you for protecting my husband to the last." Then she allowed Rhodri to take her inside.

Lady Martina remembered Aranya's instructions to her, about what to do if Aranya had not come back by this time. She had her wheelhouse readied, and she and Brynden left to Gulltown.

The snow storm that had hit Castle Black with a fury now spreads across the Wall and starts moving further south. Heavy flakes blanket the world, creating white out conditions. A bitter cold cuts through clothing and skin.
