After two weeks of steady sailing Edmure and his three ships had finally sailed off the edge of most Westerosi maps, though it was not these guides he consulted. Instead he kept his sails and oars going towards a small point on the map, a tiny island of rumours and ghosts.
==============================
When they finally saw the point of a small castle rising over the horizon a cry went up on all three ships. Edmure went to the bow of the ship and took out a small looking glass. "I can't quite make out the banner she's flying." He murmured to Farrio, who stood at his side.

The flag flutters in the breeze, but the colouration is too dark to make our specifics from this distance. Edmure can make out no movement on the island from the ships.

The ship pulls into a small cove, and Edmure sends out a rowboat with some sailors and five royal marines to investigate and find out about the possible inhabitants of the island.

The cove has a small jetty and some crates piled up but there is still no sign of the inhabitants in the immediate area.

Albert lazily cast a line into the water from the side of The Ice Dragon.

One of the marines gripped his halberd tightly, gulped, and tentively started walking up the rocky beach with the rest of his comrades. One of the sailors pried open the crates, hoping to find a sign of recent habitation inside. A thick silence lay heavily on the island, and the men were all nervous. Edmure tried to not notice and set about giving the men tasks. "Get those casks out so we can fill them with fresh water. Waymar, find your bow, hopefully we can find some game here."

The crates contain a small variety of goods, some dried fish - now beginning to go off, some clay pottery and linen. The water casks present are stagnant. This jetty does not appear to have been used recently. There are some old tracks heading towards the castle and some heading westwards.

The men silently do their duties, and they fill their casks at a nearby well after the maester sent with them checks it for disease or poison. Waymar goes off alone into the woods, hoping to find anything.
As the five marines near the castle, a small keep built before the conquest, one of them looks up, hoping to see the standard. But flag lies limp, and the man shakes his head, muttering a mix of curses and prayers. They finally reach the oak doors of the gatehouse. "Is there anyone up there?" The leader shouts.

The maester declares the water free from poison
There is no noise from the castle. However, the marines notice the door to the gatehouse is not secured and is slightly ajar.
Waymar continues to follow the tracks inland. They head off deep into the forest.

Edmure watched the marines enter the castle and leave his sight from the prow of the ship. He then turned back to his work. He deployed the other twenty marines from his ship in a semi-circle around the docks, though they were not expecting any attack Edmure wanted them ready.

The five marines entered the castle courtyard. To their right lay the stables, the door swinging creakily in the wind. Straight ahead lay the entrance to the castle keep and the door to the kitchens lay to their left.

OOC: No, he was ordering those casks to be loaded on more rowboats, he's still aboard the ship.
IC: The marine's sergent nodded towards the tower. "Robert, Willem, you take the great hall. We'll go see whose flag that is."
Back at the ship Edmure lowered himself into the last rowboat and made for shore. When he reached it he saw one of the sailors there. "Any sign of Waymar?"

The marines entered the keep. The first thing they saw was a slumped skeleton lying in a crumpled heap. He wears an old surcoat but apart from a indistinguishable mark in it's centre it seems to be an off-white colour, yellowing with age.
As the enter the great hall they see many more skeletons, arrayed in various poses and positions. Some look as if they had fought, others just seem to have fallen over.
The sargeant headed for the tower flag. He passed some empty rooms, some with skeletons in, some without. When he reached the top, he found the door locked
ooc: Waymar is still following the other tracks inland. Do you want him to come back or continue?

Edmure watched as the last of the casks were filled and then shut. "Still no sign of Waymar..." Edmure said to himself.
========================
The sergent thought for a moment, and then looked over at the two men behind him, who nodded. "On three, one, two, three!" And all three of them smashed against the door. The rotten wood split open, and all three went stumbling into the light.
