"Has Coldiron left the court in the last five years? I think not." Cedric replied, "I think I will go for a walk." He stood up, but could not help but admire his wife's form. Stepping out of the tub he embraced her and kissed her neck. "Thank you."

Lord Duncan Farman arrived at the camp with a small number of me-at-arms, having left the capital a day after the main Lannister party. He had been meeting with the Hand and had learned of the sack of Lannisport mere hours after leaving Irwyn's tower. He'd heard no news from Fairisle, since the report that, in retrospect, was obviously a warning about this very attack. That raven had only arrived a few days before news of Lannisport, and Farman feared the worst for his family, all of whom he knew to be on Fairisle, except for his cousin Lysa who had been sent to Lannisport. Ironically, it was thought she would be safer under the protection of her betrothed, but having been in the city when it was sacked, presumably, Lord Duncan feared the worst for her fate. He settled down on a bedroll, making sure to be rested for the morrow's ride.

"A walk?" she said, stroking his cheek gently though not turning around. "I'll come with you. Just give me a minute to get some clothes on." She pulled on her breeches and a nightshirt, buckled her leather swordbelt loosely, with nothing but a dagger strapped to it.
As they walked out of their tent, Hawkeye started barking. A company of riders had joined the camp.

Cedric dressed in loose shirt, and pants and slipped off into the dark. He walked up a small rise staring down at the river.

Ser Rhyin Myatt approached Farman with a slight frown, "Where do you come from?"

Cedric dressed in loose shirt, and pants and slipped off into the dark. He walked up a small rise staring down at the river. The Blackwater Rush flowed down at slight incline, and quite fast. Aranya's great fawn wolfhound trotted at his mistress' heels, watchful and protective. "It looks peaceful tonight," Aranya remarked, scratching Hawkeye's head. "The peace before battle - it always feels like the deep breath before the plunge."

"The capital, Ser. I am Lord Duncan Farman," he said to the man who aproached him, before adding, "Squire to Ser Cedric."

Cedric laughed, a nervous uncomfortable laugh and looked to her. Then his mouth clicked shut and he nodded.

"What's wrong?" Aranya asked softly, rubbing his shoulder. "Well, besides the obvious," she added lightly.

Myatt nodded, "Of course... I had forgotten. I did not spend a lot of time with Cedric in the keep."

Aranya fixed him with a piercing gaze. "Do you not trust me? What is it?"

Cedric looked away, "You.... I guess I do not really trust you. Do you trust me? We have spent so little time together. You do not really know me, what will happen as you come to know me is the question."

Aranya sighed. For a few moments she did not speak, only stared at the river. "It is my fault, partly," she admitted. "I...do not open up to people quickly. There are only two people in my life that I have trusted fully with my deepest thoughts and feelings before, and both of them are dead: my sister Elane, and my first husband, Selwyn, and I had known those two since I was a child. But they are not the only people I have ever loved. You must not mistake my reticence for coldness, Cedric." She took his hand. "But since our marriage, there have been so many commitments, so much going on - it is a wonder we had enough time together to make Tiberion and Allyria." She smiled slightly. "Although on that level, at least, I think we are perfectly pleased with each other. I know I am."

A wry smile played across his lips, "I agree with the last sentiment. Emphatically so." The smile grew slight, but then he refocused on the river, "I was raised to be a closed book. Openness and trust do not come easily to me either. I want a relationship of equals and partnership that my parents had. But... you are so new to me."
