"And you? Did you have a drink or three? I must live through young men like you, now, Garrett. I could have sworn I lost four years there somewhere. I've a marriage and my own offspring now, but when I was your age I think I would have torn the town apart."
"I hope you caused no bloodshed..."

"No, I didn't," Garrett laughed. "I won a dagger in a gaming den, had the local ale, had a few girls and Ser Hugh of the Fingers had me try that dish where they marinate the mutton and drown it in honey, peppers and butter. Apparently you only get it in Lannisport."

"Good." Rhodri takes an appraising look at Garrett. Now is not the time or place for interrogation. "So I've seen you with the lance, how are you with the bow?"

"Now, Garrett, come with me to the herald's station."
Rhodri picks up his bow and approaches the Lannister herald, busily writing down the names of all the entrants. "Add to the list Lady Sara Lannister, once a Royce. She's a fair shot and will enter the tourney."
Turning to Garrett, and out of the herald's earshot, he says "I've been trying to convince her to join the contest. Seeing her name on the list might prompt her to go through with it. She's a better archer than me."

"Good enough," Garrett grinned. "Redfort's master-at-arms was particular about archery, and I'd kill most of the venison and boar that was served at our table. I fed Runestone's table too. Tommen's a little better, but only a little."

" Turning to Garrett, and out of the herald's earshot, he says "I've been trying to convince her to join the contest. Seeing her name on the list might prompt her to go through with it. She's a better archer than me." Garrett looked at Ser Allard's wife with interest. She was extremely attractive. He wondered if quiet little Allard satisfied her. "I'll look forward to shooting with her, my lord."

"You'll enjoy the hunting along Cape Wrath, then. Whenever the weather is good I take the household to Mistwood and we spend days hunting. Everything you can imagine, those forests are wild and filled with more than enough for a year of feasts."
"Life will be good in my company, young Garrett. I am pleased you took my service. We both grew up in the Vale, you and I, and I believe we have much in common."

Rhodri turns to Lord Tallaher, "Brother Tyrell. It is good to see you once more. To stand by Lord Rindwynd is the only right thing to do, that Salt-tosser was a disgrace last night. How is that northern wife of yours, eh?"

"We have plenty of roaring hearths to keep us warm. The wind howls across the bluffs but the walls hold them at bay. I find it strangely beautiful, to tell the truth. Cape Wrath especially, and hunting in the woods. And the Stormlords are to a man amongst the best I've met in the Six Kingdoms or Dorne."

Sara came over to Rhodri and his companions, waving her bow at him with a smile. "Found it, much to your disappointment I'm sure. So, are you going to introduse me to your friends then?"

Garrett smiled easily and kissed her hand. "Ser Garrett Redfort at your service, sweet lady."

"We have many friends, here, dear Sara. This goodly lord is Tallahar Tyrell, brother to the Lord of Highgarden and a recently raised lord himself. He's called the Dawn Raider for his attacks on Bolton in the north during the war. This is Ser Garrett Redfort, I'm sure you met him when he was a young page in the Vale. I'm trying to make him my new protege, after I knighted him in the lists at Storm's End. He shows great promise with the lance, and he's given me great promises about his bow. Now I need to teach him the spear."
"I have some other companions from the Stormlands here. Lady Cortesse Horpe, standing yonder in the gray dress, she is a devious woman you might find clever. The Lady of her house, and refuses to take a husband since her father passed. She is accounted one of the best bows in the Stormlands, and loves the hunt."
"Ser Doyle Swann stands with her, I call him the Bentbow but you'd best not ask why. Another fine archer."
