"The Lord needs to speak to Horas Blackwood. As to Rindwynd, someone needs to speak with him. Ser Syward Spicer has been murdered." Bardwyn looks around the room eying Tallahar then shakes his head. "This intense situation did not need any more stressers."

"What is this about murder?"

Bardwyn turns to Rindwynd, opening his mouth he replies, "Ser Syward Spicer was found murdered just a little while ago, Lord. Did you come straight here from the tourney?" The castellan's eyes narrow suspiciously.

Rhodri is stunned with the news. He was jousting with Spicer only a few hours before. He viewed the man with distaste, it was true, but murder? The man was a lout. If all louts were condemned, the world would have too few men. Events at the keep seemed to be spiraling out of control.

Aerie lurked the crowd with Alyssa, her mood infinitely more cheerful and serene. Yesterday had been a mess of hormones and petulancy that she was ready to leave far behind her. This time, she kept an eye out for her cousin, with whom she had spoken little, and some of the other riff-raff she had predictably befriended—she could not stand the stiff types for very long, and it always looked bad when her plastered smile began to slip and reveal the annoyance that lay underneath. Now, she made her way through the crowd, smiling cordially to those who waved to her. She was about to pass Lord Royce when she heard ‘Horace Blackwood’ in the midst of his conversation with a nervous looking knight. Aerie paused as if to straighten her skirts and gave Alyssa a meaningful glance from her bowed stance. The Lord needs to speak to Horas Blackwood. As to Rindwynd, someone needs to speak with him. Ser Syward Spicer has been murdered. Aerie jerked to her full height—her burnished eyes met Alyssa’s—and they turned to the softly conversing pair. This confirmed it. There was something horribly wrong going on here, and she wanted to know who lay in the thick of it. Had the kennel-killer struck again?
“Why, I’m sorry to interrupt you my Lord, but did I hear someone seeks my cousin? I am Aerie Blackwood. Is something the matter? Everything is all right, isn’t it, or otherwise I would be informed…?” She stared at them innocuously, waiting to see if they would disclose the full contents of their merry chat, including the murder of Ser Jast’s dear friend Ser Spicer and the reason Horace Blackwood was being sought.

Bardwyn Doggett turns to Aerie looking at her vaguely, "Yes, everything is fine. Could you run along and find your cousin, Lord Lannister wishes to speak with him in his chambers."

Aerie bristled slightly, wrinkling her nose in distaste but biting back the irritation that was rising like bile at the back of her throat. Why must everyone treat her like a child? Could she run along? Was she six now? "I'm afraid I do not know of his whereabouts at this moment. Perhaps if you told me what it is regarding, I could relay the message to him when I see him...?" she suggested hopefully, laying a well-practiced hand on his arm. "Nothing else has happened, has it?" She would get the brute to open his mouth if she had to beat him over the head with a stick!

Looking down at here Bardwyn's face grows concerned, "No don't worry, everything is fine. There is nothing to worry about at all." He pats her hand in a comforting manner, "Everything is fine. Lord Baldwin just wishes to speak with Horas."

"Yes Bardwyn I did head straight from the tourney to here, I did not kill Spicer if thats what you or Baldwin are thinking. I fought the duel with him and won after that he was of no consequence to me."

Now Aerie wanted to bite his head off. Her cheeks grew slightly flushed as she fought to contain her mounting frustration, and she snatched her hand away with little placidity. She hated having to play this game of subtlety and insinuation when others could simply cut down to the point and spare their breath. She shifted her weight to allow a physical outlet for her exasperation and opened her mouth to press him slightly harder when Lord Tyrell saved her an enormous amount of trouble with Yes Bardwyn, I did head straight from the tourney to here. I did not kill Spicer if that’s what you or Baldwin are thinking. I fought the duel with him and won. After that he was of no consequence to me. Aerie smiled in triumph, but remember her position and wiped it hastily off her face, donning instead a mask of shock. “A murder? Ser Spicer is dead?” she gasped in carefully measured tones of alarm, definitely in the zone of stunned but well away from hysteria. That would do. Now for the accusations to add on the guilt. “I though everything was fine. What is going on? Is Horace involved in this somehow? Have you found the culprit? Is he associated with the murder in the kennels and the fire? Has someone moved the body yet? Where was he found?” She shot question after question in an inexorable fashion, her voice heavy with authority and demand to know the truth. Perhaps that would shake the man in submission. He must also be feeling the guilt of openly lying to her and being found out.

Horas re-enters the feast and makes for the center of the hall. As he passes Ser Tallahar, he places a steadying hand on him; the man looks ready to fall on his face at any second.
"It may be best that you lower your voice, Ser Tallahar," Horas says, his eyes lingering on Ser Bardwyn Doggett in distaste, "The lions seem particularly... temperamental tonight."
