Aerie suppressed a choleric frown, the corners of her lips twitching in distaste. "From your other men?" she queried softly, her voice crisp and light as it hung, undisturbed, in the air. “They’ve told you I’m quite the conversationalist?” An eyebrow arched coolly. “Who would that be? I can’t seem to recall with whom I’ve spoken all these rather chaotic days, I’m afraid. I wouldn't want to suggest rudeness by forgetting them already.” The usual smile quirked back into place, this time touched with a festering annoyance.
OoC:sorry, I have to get off for a sec so this is kinda ehh-

"I believe Ser Doggett and Ser Hill both mentioned speaking to you. They only had good things to say." answers Baldwin in his deep baritone. "I believe I saw you speaking to Ser Vikter Jast the other day."

Aerie bobbed her head with unctuous contriteness, murmuring an offhand “Of course, yes I remember the fellows. Charming men.” Her mouth gave its characteristic twitch, this time a vaguely upward motion that indicated a twisted sort of secret humor, like she found it amusing that she had been discussed, even if only fleetingly. “I’m relieved they did not find me a nuisance. Yes, and I do recall speaking to Ser Jast yesterday. We had a pleasant conversation.” She said it in an absentminded sort of way as if the man had been of no real importance and their polite chatter had already been long forgotten. She wondered if Baldwin had been informed of what exactly they had been speaking of that day, and if he knew her much better than she realized. The thought made her mildly uncomfortable.

"You are being kind. We Westermen are many things, but charming is hardly one of them; except Piers Bettley who could talk a Stark out of his honor." Baldwin snorts once at his poor example of wit, "Doggett is as think tongued as a bull. Hill spends every waking moment complaining about noble's pride and foolishness. And Ser Jast, conversing with Ser Jast leaves you feeling as you have fallen down a flight of stairs. We leave all our charm to our women." As his mouth shuts, his eyes drift to where Elena Plumm is standing.

Aerie could not help herself: His description of a conversation with Ser Jast was too dead on for her to contain herself. She burst out laughing, a hand clutching her heaving chest as if to hold her upright. “I—I see,” she gasped, fixing her composure and smothering the humor that bubbled up her throat. “You have made frankness an art form, Lord Baldwin. I am pleased to see you know your men so well. They are not so bad, though I think it is best they leave the charming to the women.” She smiled in amusement, following his glance to Lady Elena, the woman Aerie had met a couple of days past. She saw there was no laughter in his eyes, so she switched topics to something he could understand, preferably something dour and solemn to compliment his attitude. “I have heard you have been made the King’s Hand in place of Bryen Royce,” she began cautiously, her tranquil eyes betraying their vigilance to his reaction. “You must be pleased.” Aerie certainly was not.

"I will serve as the King asks. I take no pleasure from doing my duty." Baldwin scans the room before turning his eyes on the young women, "Pleased doesn't really describe it."

Aerie wanted to snort at that remark, but she continued to smile blandly at him. Not pleased are you? No, the word is ecstatic now that the Lion has grown so strong in the Council. “You look a bit distracted, Lord Baldwin. If you have some place to be, I should not hold you back from your duties. I myself must be going. I have…certain things to tend to, unfortunately.” She glanced fleetingly at her father and back to the Lannister, her expression now thoughtful and calculating. “If you’ll excuse me.” Her eyes beckoned to Alyssa, who edged closer to them.

"You are excused." Baldwin turned to talk with another guest.

Tallahar sees Lord Baldwin the new and high and mighty Hand talking with Aerie Blackwood. Dam not an alliance of Blackwoods with Lannisters. The Lannisters already have enough power in the Riverlands, have to see if Rindwynd can help me with this.
Tallahar goes back to his glass of Arbor red thinking dark thoughts of Lannisters as kings
