Many of the women of the house and visiting female guests were housed in the East Wing of Casterly Rock. The accommodations were universally acknowledged to be of the utmost comfort

"Yes, tell us what has happened."

The news eventually passed even to the Ladies Quarters. Lannisport was under siege, the Worm was in the dungeons and too much excitement was to be had anywhere in the vicinity.
Lilith begins to plan how to get her contingent of Valyrians back to Kings Landing without ruffling too many feathers.

"Lannisport has been sacked by Lord Hightower. How the in the seven hells they got so close to Casterly Rock without Lord Lannister knowing is beyond me. The Rock should be safe for now, but we need to figure out passage to get you ladies safely to the Vale."

"We have to take the River Road, and hope Lord Baldwin's sends word to Ashemark and Golden Tooth to send men to guard us on the way. I don't fancy being caught by Hightower's men - we brought only a small escort with us, as we thought speed was more important than safety. Once we reach Riverrun, we'll sail the Red Fork to the Kingsroad. And we ought to send a raven to my sister Aranya and Uncle Robert to meet us at the Kingsroad with an escort to see us safely back to the Vale.
"But I'm confident the Lannisters can crush this. I'm only worried about Allard. Who on earth spirited him away? Selwyn, Auntie, we must tell Sara expressly not to leave Baldwin's side until the Hightower force is gone, Allard is found and this strange business is sorted out."

Looks like we're not going to be leaving any time soon," Elane said calmly when Lannister guards escorted her and Lilith back into the Ladies' Chambers. Selwyn had returned to Lord Breyn. "My maid brought only one raven with her, but it will have to do, if we need it. I just hope Sara's all right."

"Her groom has disappeared. I hope she had nothing to do with that."

"Glad to see you Selwyn, and you are right that Sara needs to be very careful at this time of war. When they let us out, I can't come with you to the Vale, though. I need to get this damn gaggle of Valyrians (or should that be a volley of Valyrians?) I came with back to Kings Landing. Do give my love to everyone."

"I'm sorry to hear that, Auntie. I'd accompany you, but have business in the Vale, especially Gulltown. But when we are allowed to leave, ride with us as far as Lord Harroway's town on the Trident. From there Selwyn, Breyn and I will ride for the Gates, and the Kingsroad leads straight south to King's Landing. And Breyn might be able to speak with the princesses for a time."

"I shall see my Lady Coz to Gulltown, if it pleases her. But to cross the Riverlands now is a danger, as they are in the grip of Rodrick the Drunkard, and Treefucker has a Tyrell army in the field."

Elane laughed. "Is that what's he's called, coz? How apt. But then we must take the Gold Road just north of the Reach. It will go straight to King's Landing. That should please Auntie, and from there we can go to the Vale." She frowned. "But first we must be let out of this Rock."

Sara threw open the door to her cousin's chambers. "Elane? Elane!? One of the maids said you were looking for me?! Elane?"

Lilith hears Sara's voice with relief and goes to Elane's room.
"Sara, love, we are very glad to see you out of your chambers." She then, with a sad twinkle in her eye, continued, "What I really want to know is how your wedding night went and whether the handsome young thing you are married has any bed sense, but you should also know that we are about to be beseiged. Your leadership will be welcome to keep the ladies of the castle calm during this crisis."
