Swords are better than maces It would be blunted blades, of course, because the aim is not to kill. To yield works for me if it's ok with Smith.

I was joking. Still not the most gracious move on the part of our host to rule a good chunk of his guests' preferred weapons as inferior or unworthy.

You can use whatever you want in the melee. Swords are the weapon most commonly associated with knighthood.

Your tourney, your call. Just seems an odd choice to disqualify so many people when we're short on numbers as it is. Technically a blunt sword could be considered a bludgeon
