Crawley squinted, as if trying to size up how valuable this information could be to him. "Should've given him an invite, m'lord, he could probably use a day off from all that scurrying about," Crawley chuckles.

"He was welcome to apply for one, the same as all of you," Saxon replied, "But neither Princedom nor Exile entitled anyone to an invite without earning it." He smiled.

Crawley smiled and shrugged, then lounged back in a chair to drink some more.

"Tell us something of Her Grace that no other knows." Oswyn queried, washing the blood from his mouth and spitting upon the floor. Gwayne's gift was a cask of spiced rum from the Summer Isles, since he was lucky enough to have a Redwyne for an uncle he had no need to be gifted wine, and he had always thought jewellry was for women. He looked all around, waiting to see who would be brave enough to ask the first question. "You fought well, Lord Hightower." Oswyn remarked, sidling up next to the lord of the Far Reach as he waited for his question to be answered. "May I ask if the spoils were worth the pain of the pursuit?"

"Perhaps not," Gwayne mused as he thought about the lady and her enigmatic behaviour. "But it was a good fight nonetheless. I shall be content with that for now."

Oswyn raised a curious eyebrow at that.
"She seemed the spirited type, I am surprised." he remarked, thinking that if she made such a more distraction, perhaps his unconscious solace had been the true prize.

"So was I. But who knows the mind of women," Gwayne shrugged. "I daresay she was just toying with the both of us. Fortunately I came here not expecting amorous adventures so it's no great loss."

"Her grace is not as gentle as she seems," Saxon replied with a sly smile. "Not nearly so."

"Care to elaborate, my lord?" he pressed, interest piqued.

"Not particularly," Saxon replied with a chuckle, "but the Rose has thorns. Of that I can assure you."

.................... After many of the party-goers fell off in pairs (Some romantic, others merely talking quietly), and some passing out from consumption. Eventually Saxon clapped his hands, and servants knocked on each door urging all of the attendees (OOC: PC and others) to return to the main hall. "We've reached the high point of our evening, so it is time to provide the gifts. Everyone present may ask me any question they wish, and i will endeavor to provide an answer. But..." he smiled, "but if you ask a question you must ALSO answer a question. I've also some favors for you." Servants began to distribute a series of gifts. Gold and silver jewelry, very fine spirits and wines and other rarities. Lady Jennalynn accepted a silver necklace with a large emerald hanging from it, as well as matching bracelets and earrings. She wanted to ask Lord Saxon something, but she was to shy to do so in front of everyone, so she remained at the back, just listening.
