"If the only thing you like about me is that I am intriguing that implies that I should be close mouthed my darling." Daenya replied.

Gwayne sighed and kissed her again.
"I am sure there are many fascinating things I have left to learn about you," he said. "But come, sometimes it is not always possible to know why we are attracted to a person. Do you not find that too?"

"No my darling. I know my thoughts very well. Nothing is a surprise to me." She replied.

"Then you are very lucky. Sometimes it is pleasant to be surprised, as you have surprised me."
He smiled. "Why is it that you have stayed away from court so long?"

"I love the travel. I visit the court, but I do not like staying anywhere for too long." Daenya replied, "Why do you spend so much time at court?"

Gwayne smiled. "You must allow a man some secrets, my lady. But please, if you would prefer not to be my friend, I would rather know now. I've no desire to skirt around the issue."

Saxon stood, "Why my dear Lady Jennalynn, I do apologize, I am simply falling down as a host. It would be easier, of course, if my guests weren't knocking each other down. There are rooms for every guest, you'll find yours on the second door to the left. If you've some time, I should very much like to visit with you though. Part of the fun of parties is to meet people you do not know." Jennalynn gave Saxon a courteous smile. "Of course I have the time to speak with you, Lord Saxon. I will just need a few moments to myself, then I will return here and we can have that talk. I do not think it would be appropriate to enter a private room in the company of a man, even if that man is the host of the party." she said, remembering how the lord host had behaved with the rhoynish girl before.

"Well... do friends keep secrets from one another. I want to hear a secret." Daenya replied, and ran her fingers up and down."

Gwayne smiled. "Lovers keep secrets from each other, yet they still make love," he replied. "But my secret is that I have two baseborn sons."

"That is hardly a secret Lord Hightower." Daenya replied, "All the ladies of Hightower whisper of that." She ran a finger up and down his arm.

He leaned in close. "Do they? And how is it that you know of it, my lady? I do not believe I have ever played host to you."

"I have been too Oldtown, but you are correct you never invited me to the Hightower. I have often stared up at it in wonder." Daenya replied, "And wonder what it felt to stand atop it."

"I could not invite you before I knew you," Gwayne pointed out. "But I would be honoured to host you now that we are acquainted."

"All of heard of my family my Lord Hightower." Daenya replied, "Though most do forget about me."

"It seems that is true," Gwayne agreed. "I am sorry to say that I thought little of your family until tonight. But out of sight is out of mind, they say. Perhaps that is the truth. A person who wishes to be remembered must make sure they are seen."
