The Martell party is held in the early hours of the morning (1am). There are many, many torches and lanterns (carefully placed so that a fire hazard is elminated) positioned in the halls and several rooms. The effect creates stifling hot conditions similar to those in Dorne. Bowls of water are placed on a few tables, but they are few and far in between, there are a few fruits, also scarce, and the food provided is as spicy as a Dornishman prefers.
Lyssandra sat happily content with her party planning. She crossed her arms and looked around the empty hall smugly. If anyone did come, they certainly wouldn't stay for long. She loved it when a plan came together.

Lord Donal Stormshield stumbles in wearing silks and other clothing that was suitable for the hot desert of Dorne, he sits down idly at one of the tables and reaches for one of the casks of Dornish reds sitting at the table as well as one of the less spicy yet still hot enough to pack a punch meals and starts to eat it.

There was a man sitting at the table. He looked fairly comfortable as he stuffed his face with a variety of the foods other people had not touched. "Best party yet," he exclaimed to no one in particular. "Excellent food!"

Harold Tully arrived at the Dornish Ball, he expected if it was run by Lyssandra that it was not meant to be a purely soical gathering, to her it would seem more of a chore but he went none the less. As we walked in he spotted the Princess and approached her, "Lyssandra, a pleasure as always." He bows to her with a smile.

Lord Hightower sends a cask of Arbor gold with a note, apologising for the fact that Lord Gwayne will not be attending but offering the cask as a token of friendship between Oldtown and Sunspear.

"I can see that, though one who visited there may think you put out the hottest food just to gain a reaction." He jests. "I have some news you may be interested in hearing."

She looked around, Tully knew her well enough to see what her plan was. Overall it was working out okay, there weren't many people lingering around. "I was told by Evan that you agreed to the marriage between my nephew and your niece? I was wondering if you prefer they wed in the city or in Sunspear."

"Normally it is tradition for the bride to be married at home." He comments. "However since that may be occupied by my daughter, and I would like to get those projects of yours started, I would not object to it being at Sunspear." He nods and walks with her to a quiet spot, "I wonder if you have heard about my relations with the Mander?" He asks her.

"Even in my solitude I have heard news about it, my brother and even some servants brought it to my attention," She looked at him evenly.

"That means that if something were to occur, we all fight to the same side, the Mander and Dorne should not be at odds." He looked at her. "We are all servants of the crown. This was apart of my plan from the start, to make sure the south would not fight one another, I can smell conflict in the air, but I did not want us to be divided."

"Of course, I would not want to wage war wantonly. If there is conflict as you forecast, then there will be division wouldn't there?"

"Indeed, that is what I am worried about, that is why i wished to make an ally to you and the Mander, you have been at odds for centuries, I wished it that at least for this war, that the south can fight united." He takes a breath, "What do you think?"

Gareth Hightower entered the Martell Party. He had been intrigued by the timing of its late start, (or early start depending on how one looked at it) and had decided to attend because of that. That there were few people present did not surprise him given the time and heat. However Gareth had always preferred heat to cold, so he was not too concerned.
He removed his coat, gave it to a passing servant and approached the hostess, who looked to be a woman about his age. She was talking to one of the few other people who had attended - Harold Tully.
"I am intrigued my lady." he said to Lyssandra with a smile. "A much different atmosphere to all the other gatherings we have been subjected to here in Kings Landing."

He takes a breath, "What do you think?" "I don't want to fight anyone," Lyssandra replied while looking at a few guests. "But I don't have control over who fights me." Lyssandra looked to the newcomer and bowed her head, "As I was saying to Lord Harold, I wanted to capture the essence of Dorne. The humble nature. Sometimes it is known for being extravagant and very um, colourful. Northmen live in the very cold, and the Dornish live in very hot climates, without water and sometimes with little shade." She looked at the two men, "I am not very good at ...party..planning..so I had to represent what I thought of Dorne."
