"I wanted to bring my hammer but he would not let me." Aenys motioned to the Grand Maester.

"And who might you be, exactly?" inquired Rylene with a raised eyebrow. Edric nudged her with his elbow and returned the woman's smile. "Of course not. I am Edric Stark and this is Rylene Ryswell. Pleased to make your acquaintance, er..?" "I am Isabel Hightower," she said. "Well met, Edric and Lady Rylene. I fear I am not acquainted with the people of the north, not truly. You are very far from Winterfell."

"She does have nieces of age." Oswyn replied with a conspiratorial wink. "How I could I refuse such an invitation?" "I would be honoured to receive you and your lovely wife and any such members of your house as you care to invite. Perhaps you might tell me of these nieces. I fear the war prevented me from studying up on the nubile daughters of the great houses." Aenys followed along, and then offered his hand to Oswyn, "I see you are back on your feet." "Thankfully the Volantene lack the mettle to keep a true knight down." he said with a grin, firmly shaking the offered hand as he turned to face the Lord Hand and Grand Maester. "You honor us with your presence, though I had become accustomed to the fearsome visage of you with hammer in hand."[/quote] "My lords," Gwayne said politley to the two newcomers, though he waited to see if they cared to acknowledge him before he said more.

"Indeed we are," replied Edric before Rylene could say anything. "I am here on my brother's behalf, to swear fealty and attend the coronation," he said. Not everyone had to know that he had arrived under different circumstances. "He could not make it, I am afraid. Are you enjoying the capital?"

"You say that as if it is a bad thing, My Lady." He comments. "I recall the last time I saw you was ten years ago, and I can tell the years have been kind to you." He smiles. "How are you holding up, I hear your husband is making a recovery." "Well, you can see it for yourself, can you not?" she said with a proud smile, looking over to where Lord Oswyn and Lord Gwayne were speaking. "He is a very determined man." "That he is," Harold looked over to him running a hand though his beard. "What about you? How have you been fairing in all of this?" He asks her.

"I wanted to bring my hammer but he would not let me." Aenys motioned to the Grand Maester. "In that case, I must shake the hand of the man with the courage to deny you anything." he replied jovially, offering his hand to Grand Maester Perestan. "She knows her family far better than I do and will gladly recommend the one most suited to your temperament I am sure." Oswyn replied. "Though I hear they are all beautiful."

The Grand Maester shook his hand and smiled. "It gives one indigestion sometimes.'

"It pleases me to look after my husband's health," she replied. "Are you wed, Lord Tully?" "I was, my wife died in childbirth shorty after I set sail for the Stepstones." He looked to her. "As well as my son." He adds softly.

Amelia's gentle face grew concerned. "I'm very sorry, my lord," she said, thinking how horror-struck she would be if she lost Oswyn and Theodore. "That is a terrible blow. The Stranger is a cruel master to us sometimes." He breaths, "He is indeed. But, let us not think on such horrible moments, this is your party, and I will pray to the seven that your family live a long life." He smiles. "It was in the past, their mourning has passed and I have moved on." He says with a stressed exhale.

Not everyone had to know that he had arrived under different circumstances. "He could not make it, I am afraid. Are you enjoying the capital?" "Oh yes. Very much so. I like cities. Everything is so lively here, because there are so many people, and lots of things to see and do. I would not like to be far away from everything. I am lucky, though, because the Hightower has Oldtown. But I hope to say here a while yet," Izzy confided. "And what do you think? Do you enjoy the city too?" She suggested my sister is the lady to ask, but, truly, I do not think a sister best qualified to help a man choose his wife."

"Better than a caved in skull." he remarked. "Tell me, do you miss the campaign, my lord? Or does peace suit you better."

"I miss it terrible. I am built for wars I can fight, not these were I must use my words." Aenys shook his head, "Now I leave that fighting to Bert."

"A competent commander knows when to sally forth and when to remain in the safety of his keep." Oswyn mused. "I was just discussing the need for the queen to have soldiers and courtiers alike on her Small Council yesterday evening."

"A soldier first, but my recent misfortune has seen me forced to acquire skills of a more diplomatic nature." he said, tapping his cane on the ground for emphasis. "The mind must serve when the body cannot."
