Tynian Lannister entered the party, having carefully waited until his good mother had left the premises and showed no sign of returning. Not that he particularly cared about her displeasure but causing a scene, as she surely would, had ways of leaving lasting impressions and he had found he got more accomplished when such distractions weren't occupying his time. Similarly, he discreetly avoided the other members of his family, though he noted Isabel Hightower talking with his brother and pursed his lips together disapprovingly.
He helped himself to a glass of wine from a plate and quietly tipped some into a nearby plant pot, to give the impression he'd had some before cradling it casually in one hand before finding a spot near the Lord Hand and his guests where he could eavesdrop without appearing too conspicuous.

Gareth Hightower approached the small group of three consisting of the Tyrell and the Baratheon.
"Lord Bertram, Ser Oswyn. he said, nodding respectfully towards each. He turned to the lady with them. "I do not believe we have met, my lady. Ser Gareth Hightower." He gave a short bow.

"My mother was quite well, the last I saw her." replied Gareth with a smile. "I guess that makes me Lord Gwayne's brother."

"And you." he said. "Despite the fact that I still do not know your name."

After a few moments, Tynian moved himself to within speaking distance of his sister and softly said "Hello Amelia. I am sorry I did not make your wedding. I was...away" he smiled briefly, though without any feeling. He gave a brief nod to the Far Reach knight "Greetings to you as well, Ser Gareth. I am acquainted with your sister. We...grew up together you might say" he said with a sad smile.

Gareth raised an eyebrow. Given their similar looks, the new arrival was obviously related to the lady, but he did not know either.
"You are acquainted with my sister? I have three sisters. Which one?"

Tynian bowed his head to the knight "Lady Isabel. We fostered together at the Eyrie. I am Tynian Lannister. You are Ser Gareth Hightower, I believe?" he held out his hand in greeting, his gaze appraising.

Gareth clasped the man's hand in response. "Well met Ser Tynian. I am indeed Gareth Hightower. So can I surmise that this lovely lady here is also a Lannister?"

"A Baratheon now." Oswyn interjected genially, offering Gareth and Tynian the hand not occupied with the cane in turn. "An honor to meet you both."

"She used to be" he replied, looking at Amelia and not Gareth as he said so to gauge her reaction. "But then again I suppose we always retain affection for the things of our youth. Family ties being what they are, Ser Gareth?" he looked across at the knight to see how he would take that ambiguous statement.
Tynian chuckled at Oswyn "Indeed, and mother to the future of your House so I hear? Congratulations to you both. And to you especially Ser Oswyn" he said, glancing down at the man's legs and cane. "It takes a brave man to keep fighting such a personal war" he continued softly. "I may know of some people who could be of assistance, if you remain broad-minded. Not all the best minds reside in the Citadel, despite it's universal hold over our teachings at times" a slight smile played across his face but his gaze remained steady as he looked across at the knight.

"Luck had nothing to do with it, dear sister" he replied with a humourless chuckle.
"I am sorry to have missed your wedding, though it sounded like a deadly affair. Only the Dothraki like deaths at their weddings so I thought" he asked teasingly.

"Then I shall refer to you as Lady Baratheon." said Gareth brightly to Amelia. He turned to the Lannister knight. "With my absence at the war I have not seen my sister for some years Ser Tynian. You may well be more acquainted with her doings than I. Indeed I have seen her but rarely since she was fostered at the Eyrie."
He frowned slightly. "A decision made by my mother I believe." he said tartly.

Post by Prince Evan Martell on Sept 29, 2013 18:25:14 GMT -5
Melyssa entered the party, dressed in a Lilac laced dress, without her Septa. She was alone and looking at all of the men and women of the different houses, but she did recognize Prince Martell in the crowd.
Grabbing a drink of wine, she began mingling about the talking folk of the party.

"Lady Amelia, ser," the ever-correct Amelia said, almost in the manner of a septa. She smiled. "Thankfully, my good-father still lives." "Well finally!" said Gareth with a laugh. "Then 'Lady Amelia' it is. I was beginning to think I would have to ask one of these good Sers for your name, since you appeared to be reluctant to provide it."

Normally one would react with resentment at the mention of murders that had occurred at their wedding, but the Lannister children had grown up in a household which made such things look mild by comparison. Amelia laughed lightly, and replied, "Yes, don't they consider it a dull affair without three deaths? In any case, my lord dispatched of those murderers very swiftly. But Tynian, where have you been all these years? You were at the war with Aurane I know, but then you left suddenly. Nobody could find you, even Mother wondered. Where have you been all these years?" "Lady Amelia, ser," the ever-correct Amelia said, almost in the manner of a septa. She smiled. "Thankfully, my good-father still lives." "I made myself of use in the Free Cities for a few years" he replied vaguely "I wasn't very welcome at home anymore. Thankfully I returned as the war drew to an end and provided some small assistance in that matter. I'm back for a little while at least, so I hope to keep being useful" he continued with a smile. "Ah, Lady Annara. My father mentioned her often...in very flattering terms as I remember. She is well I trust? I cannot say whether Isabel takes after her I'm afraid. I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting her"
