"Man was killed," the knight shouted down. "You'll have to speak to Lord Hightower about it. Rest of the events been postponed for the time being. But I know of Lord Cave, course you can come in."
The gates were opened but the guards were careful to be sure nobody got out.

Finn nodded, "Can you send word to Isabel Hightower that I'll be staying in an Inn called the Cloak and Dagger," Finn asked.

"Of course." But the man frowned, wondering why Lady Isabel would want to meet this man. "You sure you wouldn't rather meet the lady at the Hightower?"

"As you wish. Pass, friend."
His group was allowed through before the gates closed once more.

Ser Alyn Dayne came around to inspect the gates and what the situation was. He bought some stale looking fruit at a stall that hard marked up their price because of the shutdown. He bit into the tasteless apple and spat it out in frustration. He approached the guard post and inquired what was going on.

"We're not letting anyone out the city. Lord Hightower's orders," the guard replied. "Tourney's been postponed as well. Someone died."

Alyn frowned, he always loved to see a good tourney. "Well that just sours things doesn't it. Can't say that there will be much celebrations even with someone dead. Who died then? Must have been someone important. I have seen a few dead bodies in the city, but they did not warrant that no one be allowed to leave."

"Aye, it was. Some highborn. Don't know as I recall who. Not without a price anyhow." The guard winked. "S you're all stuck here for the time being. Lord Hightower's orders."

"Well I guess I can give you a copper, since I can just go to Lord Hightower myself and ask," Alyn rubbed his crotch, "Damn me I want to get back to King's Landing."

"'Tis fair enough. Why don't you go to Lord Hightower? You're a highborn yourself from your voice," the man remarked. "Why'd you even want to ask me?"

"Because I am too lazy," Alyn replied, "And I don't like talking to highborns unless they're drinking ale with me. And this is where people talk about whats happening outside or on the inside. Good enough reasons? Geez stop pestering me!" Alyn waved his hand, "Any idea when they'll be opened?"

"I ain't giving anything away without you pay me," the guard grumbled. "I'm not no town crier. Don't know when gates be opened. 'Tis for Lord Hightower to say. Could go to some tavern, mayhaps they will help you more if you buy their ale."

"I see, then I will spend my money there," he gave the man a wink and left striding into the city to maybe find if he could help with the investigation some way.
