"I lost a lot of men," Gwayne said wearily. Ser Gareth Hightower had followed his brother. In the battle, he had managed to rally the Hightower men when they broke and save his brother from almost certain death but it had been a close thing. In truth he was feeling a little shamed. The breaking of the men reflected badly on the Hightowers. Gareth was determined it would not happen again - at least not while he was present. As a result, he had said little in his brother's exchanges with Lords Baratheon and Tully.

Ser Damian stood aside while the lords bickered, stepping forward to speak only when Aenys had addressed them. "The Valemen have suffered no great losses, Lord Hand. Though it is wise to offer the enemy an opportunity to surrender when they see Sandskull has fallen to us, I think it wiser still to prepare for battle."
"Do our scouts report on their numbers? Their siege capabilities? Might there be an opportunity to strike at them preemptively, before their forces can organize on the island?"

"I would recommend not eating many of the supplies we found," Aurane chimed in. "Which ones precisely I am soon to find out." He smiled. "Poison."

Gwayne glanced wordlessly at his brother. He wished there were time for a private conference between the two of them. He was now heartily wishing he'd said nothing, but the words could not be undone. He glanced at the Lannister lord in surprise, wondering who had poisoned the supplies and why. And if they had enough food for the men they had.
"I second Ser Damian's suggestion," he said. "I would rather strike at the enemy than sit holed up here, especially if our supplies are limited, as Lord Lannister indicates." And my own men must redeem themselves. So must I.

"Or let them have the keep and poison the rest of the supplies," Aurane suggested. "What do we know of this keep? Any hidden tunnels, hiding places? My brother has returned and as you all know he is skilled at sabotage. I would us use this to our advantage. " He shrugged. "A suggestion."

"We took this keep with valor." Oswyn spoke up, his goodbrother's suggestion striking him as dishonorable. "It does a disservice to those that gave their lives to hold it like cravens. Poison is a tool for bastards and women."

"We should search the keep for anything of interest," Gwayne agreed with Lord Lannister. "But I don't agree with letting the enemy take it back for any reason. And Ser Oswyn is right. Poison is no weapon for warriors."

Poison is a tool for bastards and women." Lord Baratheon sneered as his son spoke, and he stared unblinking at the Dornish Princess when the mention of poison was made.

"Honour won't hold a castle," Aurane replied to Oswyn. "You stormed this keep with honour and look what it did to you. If we want to win we must do whatever we can. These men are our enemy and so we must treat them." Aurane turned to the Hand. "Prince Aenys would no doubt agree."

"Aye, poison the sons of bitches. Honor won't mean much if it gets us thrown into a mass grave outside these walls."

Aurane turned to lord Tully. "What siege engines do you have? Catapults?"

Aurane turned to lord Tully. "What siege engines do you have? Catapults?" "Plenty, what is your plan?" He asks Aurane. "We also have Balista, and Trebuchet, I can also probably have built anything else, even some improvements to warships if need be."

"We poison the food, let them retake the keep," Aurane stated. "We get as many bails of hay as we can, set fire to them and catapult those in. Constantly, as many as possible. If it sets nothing alight then it'll smoke them out or suffocate them. If that doesn't work then we save corpses until they rot and catapult those in."
He paused. "We'll want to taint the water supplies within the keep, so they can't put any fires out. Throw sand in the wells until they are mud. And if there are any decent hiding places within the keep then perhaps my brother and his men can remain there and set fires and cause mayhem once the enemy takes the keep."
He paused again, looked to the Hand and smiled.

"We will talk with then first. I want to hear what they have to say." Aenys walked away from the group to organize a meeting.

The Princess finished with her water and plugged the pouch. She set the skin aside and folded her arms. She weighed the words of Lord Baratheon whom she was like to agree with even if he made poor decisions not pertaining to battle. She listened to Lord Aurane speak and felt he had the right of it with trying to poison and kill the bastards without putting themselves at risk. "They control the sea, they can simply wait on the shore and bring more reinforcements. We're already in a siege, regardless if we fortify the keep."
She finished making her comment and looked at Oswyn, she gave him a rare smirk.
