Lyssandra wondered why the bickering could not wait until later, there was still a fight to win. She sipped her water and warily stepped near the Lord Hand to look over the wall with him.

"I offer no dishonour, Lord Tully," Gwayne said, rubbing his aching head. "But...I misunderstood Lord Baratheon's intentions, and I apologise for that. But my men had no choice in the position they were assigned. Naturally I wish their sacrifice to be honoured."

Lord Baratheon nodded. "Their sacrifice was worthy and honorable, and they died as true men protecting their liegelord as is any knight's duty. It is you who dishonors their sacrifice, by saying that they died for nothing. Cowards often survive battles, while good men fall in their stead," he said bluntly. His meaning was utterly clear, and the anger in his voice had caued it to rise to a volume where his words were audible to the rest of the lords present.
"You may mope on the misfortunes of your life, my lord, but I shall assist the Lord Hand in ending this campaign. Victory is the truest way to honor the fallen."

"I think they'd prefer it if their sacrifice were honored by winning what's left of this battle. Not by crying about how it wasn't fucking fair." Eirek added in, also tired of the sideshow bickering.

Ser Crawley shows up to see if his Knights would be issued any new orders. His armor is as old and shabby as ever, but bears no new dents or bloodstains. He seems oblivious to the tension already present in the room, and whistles tunelessly while peeling an orange.

Harold sighs. "We do not need this right now." He looked to Gwayne "Understand that Soliders follow a good commander, it is commendable that you care about their honor, but true men who fight to win, and die to win show more honor then anyone. I feel we need to stand back, breath and talk about what we are to do next. Rather then two of our Lord Paramounts arguing over a battle that we knew would be bloody and hard to take. Do you think I am happy that I lost my men? No, no worthy commander is, but I would give my life to give them what they wanted, what we all want, to end this accursed war, to win it for the crown so we can all go home." He looks to them both, with his arm in a sling and his head royally fucked up, he looks a complete mess but attempts to look serous to them.

Gwayne, feeling harassed and angry that he was being accused of cowardice, since he knew that at least was not ture, glanced among the lords. "I believe my men would prefer it if they had remained alive," he said, very quietly. "I am angry because I lost men, that's all. As it happens, I was suffering a misapprehension which I now know to be unjust. Lord Baratheon, will you accept my apologies? And the rest of you, will you also accept my apologies?"

A noble who would die for his men? Now Crawley had heard everything. That Tully really must have taken a hard hit to the brainpan. Crawley barks a short laugh, which he tries to cover by taking a bite of his orange.

Harold grasps Gwayne's shoulder. "We all get upset, Lord Hightower, loosing men is hard it is on all of us, I do not accept your apology because I am not offended." He smiles. "But right now we do not need to let our anger rise at each other, but at who we fight, we still have a long fight ahead of us."

Lord Baratheon nodded graciously, although he said nothing, turning his attention back to the Hand. "Have our southern scouts reported anything over that ridge? It has been too long since we've recieved word from our own fleet, I suspect they may have met the Volantenes in battle and come off the worse for it," he said, moving over to the table on which the Hand had spread his maps of hte island and surrounding seas.

"As with you, each man looks to you and would die for you. You are their lord, commander, the fact that you are alive proves that they did not die in vein."

I keep thinking what if I could have done something to save them, or stop those who hesitated from doing so. But it's too late, either way." Gwayne sighed. "I shall have to find a way to make it up in front of the other lords. Damned if I know what. But, what is this about you being shot? Are you decently patched up now?"

"As decent a battlefield maester could make it, the Arrow is out and the bleeding has stopped, good enough for me to continue to lead my men." He nods.
