The taboo of the word being spoken, Lord Cave nodded, "I know not who has the eggs. I know only that these enemies believed you had them." He said, "but assuming they exist they must not fall into untrustworthy hands. I would ask you to help me my lord, to locate them, and recover if need be."

"I am curious, my lord, on whose behalf you seek them," Lord Baratheon replied. "You will forgive me, I trust, but your reputation is that of a man who acts only when it is in his own benefit and I wonder what you stand to gain from a search that will likely be exhaustive and time-consuming."

"It is a job I undertook in payment of a debt to the man who taught me my trade," Cave replied, "a man who was far more altruistic than myself, truth be told. So it is in the interest of the realm for which I am acting, as loath as I am to admit it. Had the man not gone and died on me, I should have by now found some way to relieve myself of this crushing obligation, but alas there is no nothing to be done but to complete it."

Baratheon studied the man for a moment, before allowing a smile to break across his face. In truth, the reply sounded refreshingly honest. He nodded. "You will have my assistance, then. I cannot claim your level of altruism, of course," he said with a chuckle, "but I daresay there is a rather good chance for gain of some kind, by offering you my aid however I can. I imagine Prince Damon will be seeking them as well; nothing would secure his claim to the throne more easily."

"In truth, I do not believe that Prince Damon even knows they exist," Cave replied, "There are few who do. Indeed, had I not thought that you already knew, I'd have not mentioned it to you either. In any case, they are obviously somewhere in the Stormlands, and we should secure them."

Baratheon nodded. "I imagine Summerhall would be the first place to search, if you have not already begun. I doubt I could do much to aid you openly, as that would raise suspicons, but I can give a few of your men writs with my seal, that would allow them greater authority to operate in the Stormlands without having to answer undue questions."

"I would take them gladly," Saxon agreed. "Summerhal is as good a target as any, I suppose, and worth the time."

"Send someone to my manse tomorrow, and I'll sign and seal three writs of free passage and... a leniency against trespassing. I cannot risk claiming them directly as my own men, since it would be unwise for my hand to be more clearly seen in this search, so if they are found having committed any violent crimes I will not be able to protect them from local justice. They will be guarded against anything else, and I am certain I need not give you advice on how to search unobtrusively," he added with a deadpan expression that was just barely given away by a twitch at the corner of his mouth.
"If my son comes to see you later today, do not feel as if you have broken confidence if you tell him what we discussed today. If there is naught else, I will take my leave, my lord. You have my gratitude for bringing this to my attention," he said, though he knew full well Lord Cave would likely not have shared a word had he not thought Baratheon already knew the secret.

"It is my pleasure my lord." Saxon said.
