"Apologies are not necessary, Lord Saxon." he said, with a genial smile. "I suppose I had been naïve to expect the highest stations were not so easily bought and sold, loyal to coin rather than kingdom. My experience has simply illustrated the need for law and order in the realm."
"How has business fared in the last decade?"

"Most excellent indeed," Saxon said, "My eyes are as wide open as they have ever been."

"I am happy that fortune has smiled upon you." Oswyn replied. "Vigilance has its rewards, it seems."

"Always ser." Saxon agreed. "Will you be in the capital long? I'm hoping you've enough positive impression that you'll be recommending my services to all your allies."

"I will be here until His Grace, or should I say the Lord Hand, is satisfied with the realm's preparedness for war." Oswyn replied. "The information you've provided will be passed on to my by father, with the highest praise for your professionalism accompanying it."

Saxon bowed his head, "Most of my business is from word of mouth," he replied with a chuckle.

"That seems logical in the trade of whispers." he replied, lightly. "What do you make of our new Lord Hand? It is queer that even his influence seems to pale in comparison to the Lord of Roses."

Lord Saxon suppresses a smile, "Queer indeed. But, Lord Tyrell is a very persuasive man, is it so shocking he'd be influential at court?"

"Less surprising than troubling." Oswyn remarked, flexing his crooked fingers. "Royal ties can make for entitled neighbors."

"Is Lord Tyrell causing your family some trouble Ser?" Saxon inquired, sounding slightly disappointed at the acrimony between families.

"No trouble, as of yet." Oswyn answered, with a shrug. "But as we have already agreed on the merits of vigilance, one cannot fault a man for being wary of a neighbor with more arms to his name, unmatched influence, and the Crown in his debt."

"No I suppose you can't. Perhaps you should find a way to put Lord Tyrell in your debt?" Saxon proposed.

"There is little I can think of that I would have to offer the man." Oswyn said, considering the matter. "I don't suppose you would be willing to keep your ear to the ground regarding any dealings of the Master of Coin that would be of use in accomplishing such a goal? You could name your price for such hold over the man."
"Otherwise, perhaps the coming war will offer its own opportunity."

"If I shall hear of anything, I will offer you right of first refusal on the purchase." Saxon said agreeably. "A man of his influence will have secrets. They all do."

"That is all I ask." he replied, gratitude apparent. "I feel it dishonorable to not offer some service in exchange for your efforts. Feel free to request it if there is something that comes to mind."
