"Very strange," she agreed. "What is the point of a Godswood without a weirwood? I suppose they just aren't necessary anymore since everyone south of the neck follows the seven, but..." She abruptly realised she was rambling on again.

Harold looked up from his spot by the pool, then back down to continue writing as his thoughts clouded his mind, while the woods was more populated, it did not seem to bother him. They were still calm, little did he get the chance to smell trees among the shit of the city.

She abruptly realised she was rambling on again. Annara smiled and nodded. "That is true, but I suppose some northerners must visit the south, so it's not so bad. We've a godswood at the Arbor, but it's more like a garden to sit and read in. There's no weirwood, of course. I don't recall ever seeing a weirwood, myself," she admitted. "But so long as a godswood is valued, is that not all that matters?"

Harold finally sighed and shut his book putting back where it belong, he stood and moved around the pool to the more open area. He noticed the two women and bowed his head.
"My ladies, I hope you both are having a pleasant day." He said with a kind smile.

"I suppose having one here at the Red Keep is a diplomatic sort of gesture," conceded Joanna. "And you are right...oh!" She looked surprised to see the redhaired man who had approached from nowhere. So many strangers unnerved her, but she did her best to be polite. "H-how do you do, ser?"

It is a pleasant day indeed. We have been discussing the merits of having a godswood in the south. Perhaps you would care to venture an opinion?"

Harold bows lightly, "I do not mind speaking on the topic if you would wish it. Honestly it would depend what you would consider south, to me, Riverrun is sort of in the center of Westeros if not a little north." He looks around, "However, I always find trees and water to be most calming against the hustle of the castle and city life, a good place to go to think and settle down." He looks back to the ladies. "The Godswood in Riverrun has been there for years some find it find it Religious, some find it Relaxing, it has always served us well, but I suppose I am not everyone." He smiles.

"That is what I think too," Annara replied. "We've a godswood at the Arbor but it's a place for enjoyment and relaxation, unless we have visitors who worship the old gods. House Redwyne has always loved the Seven. And Oldtown is home to the Starry Sept, of course. But you do have a point, my lord. You are Lord Tully, I presume?"

"No, my father is still alive, however I am his first born, Ser Harold Tully, it is an honor to speak with the house that holds the most wisest of us." He smiles with a bowed head, then he looks back to his spot by the pool, "I feel if I was lord, times where I could simply relax and collect my thoughts will come scarce and I will grow to miss it." He smiles to Annara.

Trying to move back to the topic of Godswoods, Eirek chimes in after a period of silence, "A place to think and relax is all well and good, of course. But that's a garden, not a Godswood. Without a weirwood, there is no connection to the Gods, making the name itself a falsehood. It would be as if I picked a room in Winterfell and called it a Sept, without an altar or likenesses of the Seven."

"I apologize Master Stark, I meant not to scorn any religion. Perhaps you should come visit Riverrun, as our godswood does have a Weirwood, a gift from your house many years past I believe."

"I should like that. Perhaps on the way home after the wedding. And I did not mean to imply that you had scorned us - when something has been ingrained as custom for thousands of years, those who continue the tradition today can hardly be blamed."

Joanna nodded, pleased. Her stepson was very set in the old ways; a good, devout lad. "Long ago, even Oldtown bowed to the Old Gods...but no longer. But I suppose conquered folk must kneel. It's all politics, isn't it? N-not that I know much of politics." She twitched a little and touched her stepson's sleeve.

Annara stood quietly as the conversation continued.
"The gods hear those who honestly worship them," she said firmly. "It does not need a sept or a weirwood, I believe, though those certainly make the gods take notice. I truly believe the gods will hear the faithful no matter where they may be."

Harold looks to the group. "It really depends on the person I suppose, who believes in what, how he prays to what. It is all just personal. I do not think there is a true correct answer."
