"Father? He encourages me..." Aurane replied, unable to think of Gerion without feeling fear. That's who he was; Gerion, not father. "You have to find the right sort of rock," Aurane said, picking up a flat one and managing to make it skip a few times.
He smiled to himself, and the reflection of the waters surface showed him taking Doreah's hand, almost casually, before giving it a squeeze.

"You must introduce me to him someday, Doreah responded in a consoling tone, clearly having misconstrued his words. "And I'll introduce you to Mother and Father. And you would love Anders. I'm going to leave Sunpear and come here--I'll talk to Mother about it; I can convince her."
Doreah watched him pick out a rock among the hundreds with interest. When his hand took hers, she didn't even pull away, but wrapped her fingers around his, her heart thudding in her eardrums like a song.

Aurane smiled to himself. "I would love to have you at Casterly Rock. And I want to meet your family; they sound like good people."
Maybe they were better than his family; maybe he could go to Sunspear and stay there forever. He turned to face Doreah again and realized he wanted to marry her. He as only eleven, but that didn't matter. Some things were meant to be.
He leaned in and kissed her, missing her lips a little. He quickly pulled back after, a little embarrassed. But he was also proud. He could be brave, yes.

"What is there to tell?" Jen asked, and she sat on the nearest bench. "I am an Islander, married an Islander and have a son thta will be around here somewhere." She waved her hand vaguely. "Most probably with my brother however." "I see, well if we are going to talk about that, I suppose I am a Riverlander, married to a northerner, I have two children not here." He smirks. "Now what I am more interested in is your likes and dislikes." He shrugs. "Or we can continue talking about nothing all night and get nowhere." He chuckles.

Evan chuckled lightly,"Alright then", he then smiled. "Well, would you object to walk in the garden? You should be able to collect yourself there." He placed his hand lightly on hers with a friendly smile,"Shall we?" "I suppose so," Joanna said, her voice growing stronger and her words more definite. They walked through the long hallways toward the garden and Joanna could almost feel the air growing fresher as they left behind the crowds and the closed spaces of the Keep for the open air and flowers. She was smiling broadly now. "Yes, this is more like it, Prince Evan. Thank you."

He nodded in his best gentleman like fashion,"Anytime, My Lady." Evan noticed her demeanor changed the further away from the crowded ball they got. He looked out to the spacious garden and numerous types of flowers and trees.
"It is beautiful, is it not? To think in a city that smells as it does, this place seems untouched by the foulness."

She giggled. "It does smell like a midden heap the further you get from the castle, doesn't it? But not here." She let go his arm and bent to smell some vibrantly yellow flowers. "And so lovely! Gardens just don't grow like this in the north. I think a long time ago there was a greenhouse at Winterfell. I would love to have one again. Is it like this in Dorne, too?"

Evan took a seat as she smelled the flowers,"Well we do have the Water Gardens, but this is different." He looked around,"But it is only fitting, it gives you someone other than the Sept and the Great Hall to visit."

"They have a Godswood here, too," she reminded him as she plucked a vibrantly pink flower and tucked it into her dark hair. "I've never been to a sept in my life, aside from the ceremony today."

"Yes they do, but this Godswood has no Weirwood in it." He shrugged,"In that regard, I can not call it such. We in Dorne worship the Seven." He ran his fingers over the petals of a rose that was close to him.
"But in the North, you do worship the Old Gods, correct?"

"Perhaps once there was a weirwood. Once there were weirwoods in every part of the continent, even in the south, but not anymore." There was a note of sadness in her voice. "But yes, we follow the Old Gods. We in the North are the last, below the Wall."
"But no more of that. Tell me of Dorne, Prince. It is so far that sometimes it seems as foreign to me as Braavos," she smiled, but it was clear she was still thinking of the lost trees.

He grinned, obliging her,"Dorne is beautiful. Some think we are surrounded by deserts and rocks." Evan shakes his head,"that is not entirely true. We have beautiful scenery. Our mountains, our water garden of course."
He glanced at the sky,"Our fruit orchards are exotic, vast and beautiful, though water is not as plentiful, we do have the rivers that give us what we need to flourish." He smiled at her,"it is said to be too hot down there for the average man. That our environment matches our sexual prowess and tempers."

She nodded, trying to picture such things. It would be golden there, with the sun shining on the sand. The north was green and grey and even a summer day looked cold as autumn through the window. As he finished, she found herself blushing furiously. Sexual prowess? "You shouldn't say such things, Prince Evan. It isn't...it isn't..." She turned, flustered, and inspected the flowers, trying not to look at him.

Seeing her blush,"I do apologize, my lady." Evan looked at her,"it was not my intent to offend you. I was only explaining my lands." He sighed,"I still have much to learn in the art of conversation with women, being that we are of different cultures."
"Again, I do apologize."

"Well," she began again slowly, forcing her eyes back to him, "Dorne is known as a land of...liberal pleasures. I am sure you meant no offense. As you say, we come from very different cultures." She toyed with a yellow flower, like a sunburst, plucking it from the vine. "Here, it's like your family's sigil." She approached him and tucked it behind his ear. "A sign of forgiveness."
