The girl thought, "Since we opened last fall."

"So they were here before you?" He asked for clarification. "What about the Inn next door? Older too?"

"The Neck is run by a Crannogman who was chased out of his home near a century ago, and he has run that inn since he landed here way back then." She smiled.

Finn smiled. "Thanks darling, I appreciate it. Sorry dear, but from the sound of it real estate is going to be too expensive for us to put our shop here." He told Mariya loudly, before patting her hand reassuringly.
He sipped his drink, thinking about whether it implied what he thought it did.

The server walked off to help another man.

Mariya was puzzled. She didn't understand why he was talking about real estate or why he was asking questions about the neighbouring establishment. She leaned close and whispered "So when do I find out what we're doing here? Since it's obviously not opening a shop."

When she leaned in and whispered, Finn laughed loudly and nodded, "Well if you'd prefer to... check out the inn, who am I to say no." He stood, and finished his drink with a single gulp.
"Shall we?" he offered his arm chivalrously.

His behaviour was confusing her, but she took a mothful of her drink, but left some of it behind. She slipped her arm through his.
"Alright. This place is...hardly suitable."

When they were outside, Finn leaned over as if whispering something sweet. "Stop asking questions and follow my lead!" He hissed, all smiles, "We're following a lead about the King's assassins. So try to avoid calling attention and getting us killed."
They entered the Inn. Finn examined the building's interior quickly, looking for a room that would have a common wall with the Shipwrights.

The only room he could see on the ground floor was a large dining room/Library. The Inn was two stories though, and the guildhall only one. And there were at least four rooms on that side, but looked like another four on the other side of the inn as well.

How was I supposed to know that, Mariya thought, having asked purely because she hadn't known what they were doing there. She glanced around to look for danger.

Finn approached, "We'd like to get a room, if possible," he told the Innkeeper. "Somewhere quiet, if it's possible... there perhaps" he pointed to the side of the inn nearest the Shipwrights.

There was a single older man behind the counter, and he looked at both of them very closely, "Indeed. It will be two stags for the evening. My Lord."

Finn smiled, "We might be staying for awhile. Can I prepay for three days?" Finn asked, counting out the money.

"Of course. Ten stags then. I will have your meals brought up to you by the boy. My leg can no longer handle the stairs." He paused a moment, "What you are looking for is in the basement. Your room is on the left, look for the door with three towers. You may help yourself to the ale in the kitchens if I am asleep and you are thirsty." He bent and began to sign them into the ledger.
