Finn brushed up against Dany as they went past each other in the hallway, "Do you have a moment to spare?" he asked hopefully.

"Sure," Dany said with her easy smile upon noticing him. "Did something happen?"

"When is something not happening," he replied, with a sigh, taking her by the elbow and leading her off into an empty room off the main hallway.
"Better here than in our rooms I think," he said, "How are you doing? I saw you at the feast.. You and Michael."

Danyella studied the empty room as he talked. "What's this used for?" she asked, and looked at him with a wry smile. "I'm assuming it was a rhetorical question, so you'll get a rhertorical answer; I'm doing fine. We were at the feast alright," she finished humorously with a nod, wondering where this was going.

"It's an excess storage room," Finn said before shaking his head, "And very funny. Of course I care how you are doing. And I meant how are you handling these impending nuptials."

She shrugged and smiled warmly before replying. "I don't care much about that at the moment, to be honest. I get to go to Highgarden!"

Finn smiled, "That will be fun for you." he said, "I wish I could go with you,"

"You could if you wanted to, I guess," she said, her smile fading a little. "But I guess you want to work with Mox."

Finn scowled, "I don't want to work for Mox. I don't want to work for anybody. I don't know why you think I have more choice in life than you do."

"Because," Dany said carefully so as not to offend him, "you're not the heir. You could just," she shrugged, "go out there and start a band of outlaws."

Finn decided to be offended anyway, "And you couldn't? We could both be on a boat to Lys within the hour if we wanted..."

Dany let out a humorless laugh. "Oh Finn, you know I can't do that. I owe at least that much to my family.."

"I have no less devotion to my family just because you have Highgarden, and I have nothing." Finn replied. "And the Hightowers will get Highgarden, and they will get the Reach," he drifted off to a murmur, "and they get you." He kicked the stone floor, "but you begrudge me a job."

Dany listened to Finn in silence and narrowed her eyes; his words stung, but that didn't make them any less truthful. She opened her mouth to say something, and then closed it.
"You're right," she said after a long pause. "Thanks for humouring me through these past months." She turned and reached for the door.

Finn grabbed her by the free arm and pulled her back to him, as gently as he could manage and still get his way. "Dany, don't go." he said. "I'm sorry. I don't even understand what we're arguing about."
