Dunnock frowns, looking at the other wards. "We don't look much like guards, Ser," he observed. "Any guard captain who knew what he was doing would mix young ones like us with experienced men, not lump us all together. And guards don't have women, and are usually dirtier and have less teeth."

Brice laughed, "Half of you are going with Derrick, and the other half with me. With four actual guardsmen as well. You lot will stand in the back, and look tough and be quiet."

Dunnock looks dubiously at the wards, trying to imagine any of them looking menacing. The whole plan seemed strange to him -- why have the wards pose as guards when they clearly had actual guards to use?
"Yes Ser," is all Dunnock says.

Brice pointed at Dunnock and Mariya, "You two with me. You other ones go join Derek." He lead them to met up with four guards and started toward the city. "We are searching Down Shadow today."
When they reached their destination, Brice had two men kick open a door, and begin to search the house. Then he pointed at two others, and sent them into another house.

Dunnock does as he is instructed and stands in the back glaring threateningly at all passerby until told to do otherwise.

Mariya whispered to Dunnock "This doesn't seem right. We should look for something specific, not just frighten the people by turning their houses upside down,"

Brice sent two men into the next house, and then the three of them waited while the house was searched.
Suddenly a man ran out of the first house, and started running down the street away from them.

She bolted after the fleeing man, calling at him to stop in the name of Lord Hightower.

Dunnock stoops over to grab a chunk of cobblestone, then hurls it hard at the fleeing man. He chases after him too, sprinting as fast as he can.
