"Of course."
She decided to go get the ID first in case her purpose was questioned.
"I'll be back soon as I can."
She left.

Sam kept following the source until he discovered the rooms where Dr Carpenter was located in.

A moderately attractive woman in a conservative business suit and white lab coat was looking into a microscope when Sam entered.
"Busy day," she said to herself, as she looked up, "And filled with weirdly dressed characters. What can I do for you Mr....?"

"Marlowe. Chris Marlowe." He walked up and offered her his hand, "Do I have the pleasure of speaking with the good Doctor Carpenter?"

Sam smiled at Dr. Carpenter, "Thanks for meet with me." He looked around as he spoke trying not to lets his gaze stop on anything, but looking for something that he could improvise as a weapon.

There was an attractive crystal paper weight, no paper, of course, how old-fashioned, but an attractive object from a different time to add some color to an otherwise bland corporate desk.
It looked heavy enough that it would shatter a skull, and possibly not even break after the first couple strikes.
"What can I help you with?" She asked, clearly impatient.

Sam leaned back against the desk so the paper weight was within easy reach. And readied himself for if she tried to run. Then he smiled at her, "A little girl has sent me here to ask for help. Do you know the girl I am speaking of?"

Carpenter looked at Sam like he had a dick on his forehead.
"How can I know, you haven't told me the girl's name." She eyed him suspiciously, and put her hand on the phone at her desk but did not pick it up.

"Are there a lot of little girls who draw in data streams into their mind like.... well like nothing I have seen before. She told me to ask you for help." He placed his own hand near the paperweight, and readied himself to move.

"Data st.. what?" Carpenter asked, "I don't have any idea what you are talking about. If you want my help, maybe you should just be open with me about what what this is all about. Otherwise I'll have to ask you to leave."

Sam stared at her, and said, "A little girl always plugged into the matrix." He described her very quickly to the doctor.

Carpenter's eyes betrayed no recognition. "That's fascinating." She said, "If true, the implications are...interesting."

"She wanted you. This your area of expertise?" Sam said rethinking everything.

"What you are describing is technically impossible," she replied, "so I'm not sure its anyone's expertise. You said something about the girl's ability to access data?"
