Gerold shifts awkwardly where he stands, eyes worriedly darting around the room before coming back to rest on the draconically clad young lady suggesting lofty topics for discussion. "Um. Which heroes? Or which gods? The Children of the forest, if they went anywhere, would have gone north. Wouldn't they?" "The Seven are the only true gods," she murmured. "But there are lots of heroes. And as for the Children of the Forest, perhaps they did go north, but...who knows. If they are still alive. What do you think?"

"Good, good."
Thinking about what Aaryn said, he replied. "Well that is true enough. Though I fear that if I keep practicing on stationary objects, I will become a stationary object by the battle's end."
His head starting to feel the effects of the wine, Rodrik grabbed a slice of black bread and started to nibble on the crust.

Content with her choice of grapes, albeit disappointed due the lack of lemon cakes, Dany turned away from the table just in time to see who Tyana was looking at. "Uh-huh," she said, grinning before eating a grape. "Straaange taste," she teased, leaning lightly against the table behind her. "Oh, Baelor. Enjoying the evening?" she asked the passing Stark boy.

"True or no, people still follow other gods," Gerold counters, shrugging his scrawny shoulders. "Personally, I think it's most likely they would have died out by now, even if some survived for a while after the First Men came. It was thousands of years ago now, after all, and thousands more since any were last seen. It's sad, perhaps, but what can we do about the past?"

"Just having a look at how pretty you ladies look tonight," He answered with a grin, ignoring Tyana. "Nice dress, by the way."

Lara looked at him, and asked, "You want to fire a Trebuchet in Sapphire's ball? Do you really think that wise?" "It's only a tiny pebble..." He said smiling at her. "I want to see it in action though it would not be wise to do so here. I don't want your sister to be angry with me." Gregor said, a slight blush to his painted cheeks. He picked up his goblet of wine "So which do you prefer, the tiger or the elephant?" He turned his face on way then the other so she could see the fake tattoos on his cheeks. He wondered if she would recognize the Volantene reference.

"Nothing, except try to learn from the mistakes of the past," she replied. "At least I would like to. It is sad, but it seems our ancestors never learned. The Children of the Forest were replaced by the First Men, and they were conquered by the Andals, and then the Targaryens came to rule over them all. So...it makes me think that somebody else will come one day as well."

Aaryn nodded. "Yes, it is hardly good practice to fight objects when it's men you'll have to face in the future."
Aaryn was beginning to feel slightly intoxicated as well, but figured he could manage a bit more without adverse effects, so refilled his goblet again.

Gerold chews thoughtfully at his lip. "Maybe we'll all be ruled over by strange black people one day, and the rest of us will dwindle and fade until there's not an inch of pale skin to be seen for thousands of miles," he suggests, indicating the alien Summer Islander who was talking to the boy from the Stepstones.

Lara replied, "I have always preferred Tigers to elephants. I had a kitten named Tiger once, and I loved it." She looked at him, and his little marble, "I suppose it would not hurt to fire it once."

"Oh, that's possible," Mariya agreed. "Or else maybe the Dornish will conquer us all in retaliation for being made subject to the Iron Throne."

"I wouldn't put it past them," Gerold nods, managing a thin smile. "The ... Rhoynar, isn't it? They're a fierce people. What was the name of the one Targaryen king who managed to subdue them?"

"Oh."
She wrinkled her nose as she thought.
"Daeron the Good. Daeron the Second. But he won their fealty through marriage between House Targaryen and House Martell. It's interesting, because it was the first Daeron who actually fought the Dornish, years before. Except they drove him out in the end. So marriage succeeded where battle failed."

"Just the Northern sense of fashion," Baelor laughed. "Bu no, what way to stand out best when everyone will be dressed in bright colours?" He asked.
