The new wife of Lord Garnet is arriving at the Hightower today. Sapphire Hightower has arranged and is hosting the event. The them of the event is Cyvasse. All the decorations and outfits of the servants reflect this theme.
Sapphire Hightower is dressed in an elegant blue gown with all the pieces of a Cyvasse game stitched around its hem. She greets all the guests with Maester Lymon by her side.
OOC-Please describe what your character is wearing as he or she enters.

Tybalt Lannister saunters into the hall, a cocksure grin present on his face.
He was dressed in a fine doublet and breeches of a dark slate gray. In place of the usual buttons, roughly hewn gold nuggets had been used instead as fastenings. As he passed the torchlight, the entire ensemble shimmered slightly, tiny portions of gold dust having been sewn into the fabric to resemble ore veins. He carries a walking cane designed to resemble a pickaxe, a large red carnelian stone inserted into its handle and engraved with the lion of house Lannister. His inspiration for the evening had been the mountains on the cyvasse board.

Rycherd Tyrell moved into the hall, his shoulder-length blonde hair shimmering in the light. He wore a doublet of green with the yellow rose of his house on his chest. On his head he wore a stylish hat reminiscent of the heavy horse piece in cyvasse. The Reach was the home of chivalry in the Seven Kingdoms he had reasoned and what better represented chivalry and glory in cyvasse than the heavy horse piece?
Rycherd nodded politely to Sapphire Hightower and Maester Lymon as he moved past them.

Mariya too had chosen a dragon theme. She wore a black dress patterened all over with dragons worked in silver thread. The dress was simple, long and flowing with cloth of silver lined sleeves. The bodice was modest and her only ornament was the seven pointed star of the Faith about her neck.

Dany walked in to the hall, dressed in a deep blue gown of rich fabric with intricate golden embroidery on its bodice. Her auburn hair was pushed to one side, on top of it a beautiful crown of gold. She'd wondered if the Hightowers would counsider this a slight, but then again, the cyvasse game did have a king. She was just pretending to be the female equivalent of it.
She approached Sapphire and the Maester with an easy smile, greeting them and complimenting the Hightower girl's choice of theme. Moving past them, her eyes lingered on the shiny Lannister for a moment before locating a servant with a wine tray.

The heir to Riverrun follows Danyella into the hall. He is dressed in a doublet separated into alternating squares of salmon red, aqua blue and black, combining the colours of his house with the style of a cyvasse board. At his right breast he wears a small broach portraying a pitchfork - a nod to the rabble cyvasse piece. Around his waist he wears a tan belt, the silver buckle of which is fashioned in the shape of a crossbow.
Following the lead of the Tyrell girl in front of him, he also greets Sapphire and the Maester, offering both a curt bow.
"Very beautiful," he compliments the eldest daughter of Lord Hightower, smiling thinly.
As he moves away he notices Danyella Tyrell looking at Tybalt.
"He shimmers like a fish. A dogfish maybe, or a fat carp," he says quietly, moving to her side.

Gerold Frey follows shortly after Jothos. His garments are somewhat less ostentatious than those being worn by the sons and daughters of the more influential houses, the front right and back left halves of his unassuming linen overshirt being a dull grey. Over his breast on this portion is embroidered the sigil of his house; the stylised blue towers joined by a bridge; a representation of the seat of House Frey. The Twins.
The other halves of his sleeveless jerkin top are made up of alternating coloured squares, much like the board of a Cyvasse game. By his grimace, he is acutely aware that he's not the only young man to have drawn his inspiration from the playing field itself.
So that he's not exposing his bare shoulders to this influential crowd, his silken undershirt is possessed of short white sleeves that come just past his elbows, pale forearms exposed for the world to see - or they would be, if his gloved hands were not clasped nervously behind his back.
For once, his dark hair seems to have been properly cared for, and tied back into a short ponytail. His narrow face is as worried as usual, however, perhaps more, and his grey eyes dart around the ballroom. They alight particularly on the elder Lannister and the Bolton girl before coming to rest on Sapphire Hightower where she stands ready to greet the guests by Maester Lymon's side. He gives the pair a nervous smile and an awkward compliment or two before bending at the waist in a polite bow and making his way into the room proper.

"Who does?" Danyella asked Jothos with a sly look telling him she knew exactly what he was talking about, but did not want to press the matter further. She lost interest quickly in the arrival of Gerold Frey and turned to the Tully heir, inspecting his broach, a warm smile forming on her lips. "A pitchfork. Is the rabble your favourite piece?"

As each person entered the ball Sapphire said a word of greeting to them, and smiled deeply. Then she moved on to the next guest.

Mariya wasn't very keen on balls but she made herself smill and looked around for someone to talk to.

Post by Princess Carmesí Martell on Jul 29, 2012 9:00:03 GMT -5
Isolvelle wandered into the enormous room through an inconspicuous side-entrance, staggering when she realized where she’d ended up. It had been no easy task to escape the fretful attention of the three overbearing handmaidens assigned to her upon her early morning arrival to the Hightower by an overworked steward. It would have been harder though, she thought, to tolerate their hen-pecking for even another moment longer. She wondered momentarily if she would faint with the anxiety of so much unfamiliarity and the heaviness of the gown into which she had been tightly sewn. It was a burdensome affair with a full skirt constructed of colored square panels which alternated between the red and gold of House Martell. While she had been repeatedly assured that it was the very height of fashion in King’s Landing she could not help but feel that the colors looked more clownish than regal and that her gait was sure to be awkward given the bigness of the thing. Indeed, the dress was sure to bring a swift end to her anonymity (if the newness of her face did not) in this setting of long acquainted old friends.

Nym entered wearing a dress of silvery grey with a small silver elephant on her necklace and a elephant in the clip holding her hair up to represent the elephants on the game. She was courteous as she greeted the hosts with a smile and wandered around to see who was free.
She grinned when she spotted Mariya and went to stand beside her.

Zachery entered with a confident smile. His outfit was not flashy, it was all tanned leather with his house's white crab sown in, rather ordinary in fact, but resting over his shoulders are two shashes connecting to a hood behind him and the shape of a counter weight dangling in front. His grin fades quickly as he sees how golden Tybalt is, he begins to think he should have gone with a more elegant piece, rather than the trebuchet.

Mariya smiled over at Nym.
"Hello," she said. "Your dress is very pretty, Nym. Silver really suits you. And look, we match!"
She indicated the silver on her own gown, though she had chosen to favour dragons over elephants.

"Thank you Mariya. I like yours too, you will have to tell me who made it." Nym grinned. "I do so love elephants though, but I guess that dragons are really amazing too..."
