Finn laughed, "I don't think we'll ever hold elections like the Volante do. At best perhaps I could be an advisor or a courtier to someone important one day."

Gerold nods. "You're w- You're well placed for that, here," he observes, gesturing vaguely around at the Hightower itself. "There's plenty of future Lords or- um. Even a Lady Paramount fostered here."
He blinks, uncertain. "... unless i'm mistaken. Which I may be."

"No you aren't mistaken," Finn agreed. "Although I do not think it will be up to me. We are here for the 'Tower's purpose."

"It might be up to them, though, when they come into their lands and titles," Gerold suggests, shrugging. "Though we are, obviously, Rabble in whatever games the Hightowers care to play. I'm glad i'm so insignificant as to not be at much risk of that, personally," he grins.

"Even Rabble can take the King," Finn said, with a smile, gesturing to his book, "Thought its a gambit that usually doesn't end well for the rabble."

Gerold nods too, bowing his head in agreement. "Yeah," he agrees, peering at his hands. "But- um. I should- I should probably go wash up before my hands turn black for ever. I don't suppose- I don't suppose I might trouble you to put the book back?" he asks, gesturing at the tome on the desk filled with dense writing and algebraic equations. "I- um. Probably shouldn't."
Regardless of the answer, he puts the lid on the remaining ink and gathers up the pair of ruined parchments, trying to hold them so that no more ink dribbles onto the floor.

"No I can do that for you," Finn said, "not a problem." He carefully picked the book up, "I'll see you around Gerold," he said. "Good day."

"Thanks, Finn," Gerold says, smiling faintly. "It was ni-nice to talk to you," he adds before heading off to get rid of his ruined exercise sheet and wash the copious amount of ink from his hands.

William walks over and opens the window. "I would admit, that is most strange a way to enter..." He says calmly.

He nods motioning to a desk "We shall start with simple arithmetic, is that fine?" He asks softly.

Nym wrinkled her nose but nodded.
She sat at the desk.
"I am no good at it, I warn you."
