"I have two lads who are unmarried, but I am not sure I want to wed them to daughters of a rebels house." Grimm replied.

Hugo frowns deeply, and his tone is warning. "Answer me who we are rebelling against, Grimm."

Grimm stopped and looked hard at Redwyne, "Do not mince words, with what you propose rebellion is a very real possibility. That is the word they will label your actions with not matter how you paint them." He frowned, "I am not saying no to your proposal, but this is not a simple matter. Chasing out a lion never is."

"I'm not mincing words," Hugo says, "Some might name it a rebellion, but it isn't, and that's important to me even if it's not to you. This isn't some coup or power grab. Do you think I want the regency?" Redwyne shakes his head. "There are better men for the job, and it should go to one of them."
"It's about the good of the Reach. Do you think Lannister would send his fleet if the Ironborn attacked you? His men if one of the other kingdoms picks a fight? His aid, should the Reach fall upon hard times of any kind? He won't, Grimm. Lannister only cares about Lannister, and that's why we can't afford to let him bully us around any more."

"If no you... then who?" Grimm asked, "I had thought you were to name yourself regent."

"We lords of the Reach will choose our own regent," Hugo asserts. "If they choose me, so be it. But I will be casting my vote for another. I told you I was not acting alone... but forgive me if I don't name my friends before I know you're onboard."

"I do not want to know your friends... it is you I trust. I am not sure I can support this with out knowing who shall end up as our regent. It would be foolish to give up the Lion for a fool." Grimm replied.

"You will be able to choose for yourself, with the rest of us. What better way to make sure a good man ends up with the job?"

Grimm frowned, "I am not sure that is how it ever works. The man with the most powerful friends always takes the seat." He studied Redwyne, "Perhaps it would be better if our goal was to install you in that post."

Redwyne frowns. "It worked for the northmen, why can't it work for us?"

"I only meant if we choose the wrong man to lead us, it could lead to a worse situation. I want assurance that a good man will lead the reach." Grimm replied.

"A good man will lead the Reach," Hugo replies, and there is a fiery conviction in his words. "I will see to that. If it must be me, then so be it. But that is not something that must be decided here, on this island. I just want to know if you'll stand when the time comes, Lord Grimm."

Grimm turned sour, and then nodded, "Aye... I will."
