Eleyna had been visiting the Daynes that day but she came back scarcely an hour after her departure, flushed and flustered and fearful. She ran to Ser Gerard with a small bag of belongings under her arm, herbow in one hand and her quiver slung over the shoulder.
"Gerard,! Can I stay here? I'm in grave danger. They have Mother and Triston and Arthur. Mark sent one of the guards to the inn with a message. He fears he and Isolde will be in danger too and has fled the city. He thinks I should go too, but what about Mother? Please, you must help me."

Gerard nodded, and spoke, "Of course you can. That is nothing." He wrapped an arm around her, and squeezed her in a comforting manner.
His brother Wesley spoke up, "We should leave immediately. Staying here will get you caught. And we should send warnings to the other Dornish still free."

Having set down her things before Gerard embraced her, Eleyna snuggled closer to him, needing the comfort his warmth gave her. She was self-assured, normally, but this experience had thrown her badly and she was noticeably different from the woman the Dayne brothers knew. She seemed younger and more vulnerable. Still letting Gerard hold her, she turned to faace Wesley.
"Of course. But where shall we go? Home? What about Mother, and Triston, and Arthur? We can't just leave them. I don't know why they've been arrested - I can't think of any possible crime any of them have committed. This isn't right. Someone is trying to discredit us, I'm sure of it. But I don't know who, or why."

Gerard replied, "I will protect you darling. You need not worry." He squeezed her close.

"How can I not? My kin have no-one to protect them.
She turned in hims armst o look at him. His words cheered her, showed that he did seem to care for her, but she was still worried about her family and he seemed interested only in her. But then, Gerard didn't know her family.
"Gerard, listen. We must take steps to protect my mother. My brother and my cousin too, of course, but Mother is the priority. If evil befalls her, I shall be Lady of Ghost Hill and my danger will be even greater. If they are vile enough to kill her, there is only one possible answer. I would have to go to Princess Emelia and request she call the banners and then the realm would be torn apart by war. But I don't think war is in our best interests and it's my family in danger here and I want them safe. So...we must help Mother. Mark and Isolde should reach home more swiftly than me, and they can alert my father and mayhaps the princess as well, but I must do something. I know there is little we can do at the Red Keep for now, but do you and Wesley have any friends who can watch the situation for us while we return to Dorne?"

Gerard replied, "No... but we should leave. You need to be protected now because you are the Lady of Ghost hill now, in all but name."
Wesley spoke up, "I do know some people who will keep us informed. They know how to contact me."

Eleyna nodded.
"Then please see to it, Wesley. You'll have my undying gratitude if you can keep me informed of events here. Gerard, we must decide which is the fastest - and safest - way home. The gates and ports will surely be watched so I believe I must go in disguise."

Gerard nodded, "We will need to dress you as some kind of thing they will never think of as you. Like a septa."

Eleyna burst out laughing, partly in amusement but also partly as a method of relieving the tension she felt.
"That's a good idea. A septa has covering robes so most of me would be well hidden and I could mayhalps, lighten my skin with powder or something. But what about you two? You are Dornish too and might be in danger. Shall you by septons or sellswords guarding me?"

Wesley replied, "Septas do not have body guards, or travel alone."
Gerard replied, "Then we will have to be septons."
Wesley said, "When was the last time you saw two septons escorting a septa anywhere?"

"It's either that or you both have to dress up as septas and it would be harder to carry weapons then," Eleyna pointed out.

Wesley said, "If we attempt to flee as two sell swords escorting a septa then all eyes will be upon us." He shook his head, "If you want to sellswords you must dress as a whore."

She looked at him in surprise.
"If I dress as a whore, I'd be far less covered than as a septa. Is that truly wise? And I'd have to be a very rich whore to hire a sellsword."

Wesley shook his head and rubbed his eyes, "Dressed as a whore they will not look at your face but your other attributes. And if there is a whore and two Sellswords, no one will think the whore hired the sellswords."
Gerard smiled, and nodded in agreement.
