The castle of Grandview is perched on a mountainside overlooking the delta of the Redstone River and Sea of Dorne coastline west of the river. It was an ideal location for spotting invading Dornish forces in the past. It serves the same purpose for spotting pirates and raiders now.
A small town with a port lies near the mouth of Redstone River.

Upon receiving news of possible Dornish incursions into the Stormlands, Lord Edwyn Grandison mobilises his men-at arms, cavalry and archers. He orders them to assemble at Grandview under his command.
He also sends a raven to Kings Landing, ordering his eldest son Ser Eldon to return home to Grandview, with his men.

Upon receiving the summons from the new Stormlands regent Lord Rhodri Royce, Lord Edwyn sets out for Nightsong immediately, together with his sons Lyonel and Jon. He takes 20 cavalry, 300 infantry and 200 archers with him.
Lord Edwyn's younger brother Ser Joram Grandison, the castellan of Grandview is left in command of the castle and the remainder of Lord Edwyn's men, numbering some 20 cavalry, 300 infantry and 300 archers.
