When Triston lost his match, he bowed to the audience before walking off the field. His cousin Arthur offerd him commiserations.
"Warrior grant you a better match than me," Triston said, laughing, discinlined to take the loss badly. "Or a weaker foe, anyway."
"Indeed," Arthur murmured. "I won't count on it, but I can live in hopes. Bu still, somebody has to lose and it may be that the Warrior does not favour our house today."

Ser Ryon Redwyne adjusts one gauntlet, then the other, then the first gauntlet once again. Eventually he gives up the effort and waves for his squire to hand him his lance. His face bears the expression of a man resigned to a loss before the match even begins.
He is tossed roughly from his horse, but manages to stagger away from the lists to the viewer's box.

The next draw is Ser Erik Tyrell vs Bart Seven-Fingers
The two men salute the king, and then ride to their places.
Ser Erik salutes, and rides to his place. Bart Seven-Fingers is more showy. Raising his lance above his head he cries, "My lance strikes for the Seven. May the warrior guide my lance today." The Pious clap for this famous warrior monk, who is said to have cut off three fingers for he would have no more then seven.
Tyrell gets no cheers, and turns to face his opponent. The two men charge, and it seems like the seven do guide his lance as it takes one pass for Tyrell to be knocked down on his ass.
Bart Seven-Fingers wins and advances.

The next draw is Nemos Santagar the Unclean vs Ser Timmothy Vikary
The two men salute the king, and then ride to their places.
Nemos slouches in his saddle. He seems unaffected by the recent loss of his brother. His armor is still covered by the blood of every foe, for he will not allow it to be polished until his blood adorns it.
Timm Vikary is the only one of the King's Guard to have entered the Joust. They did not doubt his ability was fair, fair greater then theirs in this one skill.
It proved to be a short joust. Timm Vikary unhorsed the Dornish horseman in a single pass. Nemos crashed to the ground unconscious.
Ser Timm Vikary wins the match and advances.

Bowen Dustin looks down from his horse at the fallen Harys Haigh and snorts. "Best learn to ride if you want to fight from horseback, Haigh."

Ser Haigh chuckles, ignoring the unprovoked jibe. "A stumble of the horse, I will forgive it," he said, standing and patting the horse on the neck. "Good fortunes ahead, Bowen of House Dustin," he nodded to the northman before leading his horse away.

Ser Ranulf's armor is easily among the most expensive in the field; a fine tracery of golden vines snakes its way across the plate, and clusters of rubies and amethysts are inlaid in the armor to look like bunches of grapes. Ranulf hands his wineskin to his squire and takes up his lance to joust.
The Redwyne heir laughs with joy at his victory. "Come back after you've been knighted," he calls to his downed opponent, "And maybe you'll stand a chance in this company."
