"My children are all preoccupied, save my youngest daughter, who sits with her sister and Septa to learn," he grinned. "Though understand, I am very much a family man," he replied. "That sometimes requires me to turn my attention elsewhere." He looked to the boy. "Do you enjoy the joust, young one? You may have seen my brother earlier. He was the first on the field," he smiled. "He jousts very well, Ser" Bran piped up in his adolescent voice. "I think he stands as good a chance as any to win" "I envy you that your children enjoy their learning" Ellyn replied, once her children were once more distracted by the crash of metal on the field. "My own are far too easily distracted to be truly studious, no matter how hard Maester Vickon & our Septa try to encourage otherwise"

"I should like that very much indeed." she smiled shyly.

Northern blood, of the First Men. It can only be expected," Patrek replied. He chuckled at a stray thought. "My House certainly is diverse. If we all gathered together, I am sure we would have a touch of each of the kingdoms," he jested.

"We'll he's got the killing part right, that seems to be the part the lordlings favor most in their knights anyway." Piers smiles slowly, and glances at Jast, and then Clegane, "My Lord does fancy himself killers. Why there is Lord Yew who can hit a man's eye through a knight's lowered visor at three hundred paces. Then there is Lord Jast, whose mere whispers send men running for their mothers. The Dog... well he is rather obvious in his villainy after all." He smiled at her, and waited to see what she would say. "And..., did you not forget about the most sordid and terrible of his cutthroats?" She asked.

"The curse of the Riverlands, my grandfather used to say" Ellyn replied. "Always on the way to somewhere and rarely the destination. The Lord of the Crossing is a good title for such a place, don't you agree?"

"Oh, certainly" Patrek replied. His smile reached his eyes. "It is my father's nature to turn a curse into a blessing."
He shifted his weight from one foot to the other. "Have you ever seen the Riverlands, Lady Ellyn?" he asked curiously.

Summer smiled in spite of himself.
"You know, Lord Piers, I came up here to be mad at you and tell you off."

Summer smiled in spite of himself. "You know, Lord Piers, I came up here to be mad at you and tell you off." Piers raised an eyebrow, "Did I offend you in some way?"

Summer frowned, "I don't know, perhaps. I was most irritated upon learning that in order to establish some kind of business here in King's Landing, my people are forced to pay tribute to a gang of ruffians. And, much to my dismay, I learned that the King's Master of Coins knows about this unlawful interference with commerce, and permits it to continue unabated." She frowned. "And I thought such a sordid and terrible killer such as yourself, and the sort you hang out with," she gestured, "would have sorted any such criminal nonsense out."

Piers smiled gently, "Perhaps in the North you murder every villain, thief, and poacher. Here in the capital we actually attempt to follow the King's Law. He is young, so the shadow of the King is quite small, but it does cover all of King's Landing."

Summer frowned, "mocking those who question you is not your best quality," Summer replied, "I'm not so naive as to think every raper, thief and thug as is caught goes to the wall. But I know there ought be only one toll collector per bridge, and if it ain't the Lord's toll, well, it leads people to question just whose bridge it is then donnit?" She stood.
"Enjoy the rest of your day." She said with a frown.

She bowed as well, and went down to sit with her family again.
