Redwyne cannot flee any more now than he could before. He orders the two merchants and his own ship to meet the reavers head on, with the hope that they win or prove fierce enough prey to discourage the pirates from keeping up the fight.

The three reaver ships charged at the small fleet of Redwyne vessels. They turned aiming their rams at the enemies, trying to finish it quickly.

The ships launch a volley of arrows, hoping to kill enough raiders that they cannot launch a boarding party.

The Ironborn raise shields they have prepared as they close. Both the Traders are rammed hard by the longships. The war galley just misses, and the reaver ship targeeting it is listing slightly, and turns toward the rich traders not the war galley.

Cross rammed a reaver and it rocked the vessel backed, but it did begin to sink immediately. Reavers began boarding the other ship at a quicker pace.

With the Ironborn ship sinking, Cross orders his men to cut the raiders' grapnels and shove away from the enemy ship with long boat poles. If successful, he will attempt to disengage and ram a Greyjoy ship entangled with the other merchant.

The reavers are charging across to the trader en masse as he backs away. The trading vessel seems over run by the Ironborn. He tries to ram the other ship, and while colliding with it, he does not crack its hull. He can see the boarding of the last trading vessel is not going for his side.

Cross grimaces. No man could say he had not done his level best to save the merchants under his escort, but the situation seems salvageable. He gives the order to break away and flee south, so at least the number and location of the enemy ships can be relayed to the Arbor fleet.

The Ironborn let Cross flee, and take their prizes north with them.
