Harris has been the lord of the Dreadfort since the age of thirteen, when his drunkard of a father died in a riding accident. This event shaped Harris' personality immensely and his rule has been stern. The lord himself is a dour and sober man, smiles unknown to his face and when he speaks it is with a clear and iron voice. Even as a child Harris was very interested in the military and he spent a lot of time practicing with the sword and studying the art of warfare. At age 15 he began to lead raids against invading groups of wildlings, having them butchered with a severity that lacked any emotion. Criminals caught on the Bolton lands are known to be executed or simply disappear, though once in a while Harris will send small groups to the Wall.

Harris is of relatively medium height, with shoulder length black hair, pale skin and burning blue eyes. He is neither bulky nor skinny and usually wears simple black clothes and a large hooded cloak bearing the sigil of his house.

The heir to house Bolton is the epitome of everything un-Bolton. He is a large man, with broad shoulders and an outgoing personality, which he inherited from his mother, Harris' first wife, an Umber. He laughs and jests often, probably due to his father's lack of any humour. What he does share however with Harris is an interest in warfare. Brandon began lessons with the sword at a very young age thought it quickly became clear that the boy was growing too large for such a slender weapon. When the master of arms put a hammer in his hands Brandon knew that this was the weapon for him. He practiced day and night, sometimes sneaking out into the woods to bash at trees until they fell over. His keen interest in all things battle related has taken a toll on many of Brandon's other responsibilities and he is not known to be the cleverest or most organized of men.

Brandon stands at around six foot six and is muscled like an ox. He is relatively handsome and usually sports stubble as black as his wild hair. Brandon's eyes are softer than those of his father though his dress sense is usually the same, replacing black with browns.

Jon Bolton is closer to what one would expect from a child of Harris'. Born to his second wife, a Karstark, Jon is slim and lean and spouts a bitter smile wherever he goes. Ever jealous of his older brother, Jon decided that if he wasn't able to best Brandon with weapons he would do it with his mind. Like his brother he received many lessons in warfare, though Jon inclined more to the deceptive side of command. He learned early on how to manipulate other members of his house, using charm and wit to his advantage, and though he is not an imposing figure he knows that looks aren't everything.

Jon has the black hair of his father but the grey eyes of his mother. He keeps both hair and beard relatively trimmed and is only a little taller than Harris.

Lyanne Bolton

Lyanne is the first daughter of Harris and his second wife and is as feisty as they come. Ever speaking her mind and not caring much for the ways of proper ladies Lyanne prefers to spend her time outside, a bow in hand and her rear on a horse. She is known as a talented marksman and it is said she has found many a lost traveler in the wild lands of house Bolton.

Lyanne is straight as an arrow with an athletic figure. She has midnight black hair that she wears in two braids, startling sea-blue eyes and a face that could definitely be called pretty.

Lyelle Bolton

Lyelle Bolton is the second daughter of Harris and a true lady. She spends most of her time making dresses, meeting with other ladies of the North or simply chatting to whomever she can find. Lyelle learned much of the ways of subtlety from her mother and Jon and while she appears innocent Lyelle is cleverer than expected.

Lyelle is relatively short with an already womanly figure consisting of wide hips, a round behind and an ample chest. She wears her dark chestnut hair in many varying styles and her green-blue eyes and beautiful face can often be found decorated with makeup.

Howland Bolton

Howland has ever stood in the shadow of his older brother Harris but rather than becoming bitter he learned from a young age that the lord of the Dreadfort would need a helping hand with his rulership. Howland and Harris often meet to discuss issues pertaining to the Dreadfort lands and the former has been given the position of castellan

Howland is a stocky man with a barrel chest and a big black beard covering his pale face. His eyes are somewhere between grey and blue and his hair hang down to his shoulders.

Maester Leo

Maester Leo, originally from Dorne, has been at the Dreadfort for many years. He knows all the intricacies of the castle and its people and while at first worried at the many rumoured implications of the Dreadfort he has found that it is just another gloomy castle and has grown used to it.

Leo is old and grey, a few hairs remaining on his head and his chin free of any hairs.

Benjen Snow

Benjen Snow was born to Howland Bolton and an unknown woman and has had the privilege to be able to grow up at the Dreadfort. He learned the sword early, knowing that a bastard would never be able to succeed in anything but battle, and his natural ability has enabled him to achieve the position of captain of the guards.

Benjen is tall and lithe, with wild black hair and even wilder grey eyes that are akin to that of a wolf. He is handsome in an animalian way and many rumour his mother was a wildling spearwife.

Pale

Not much is known about Pale except that he has been in service to house Bolton for many years. He can usually be found lurking in corridors and other parts of the castle, silent and foreboding, though he seems to have a natural ability at not being noticed.

Pale is named for his deathly pale skin, which is offset by his beady black eyes. He is completely bald and his face and body size are unremarkable.

Walton

Walton was born and lived most of his life near the Dreadfort, rumoured to be a bastard of some lowly member of house Bolton. One fateful day however, he was caught stealing at a nearby market. Young Walton was somewhat miraculously given the choice to chose between a missing hand and the Night's Watch and so he chose the Wall, spending the next eight years training and becoming a hardened man of the Night's Watch.
