Welcome to 510 AC. After a hundred years of Baratheon rule, which start under Robert the Usurper, the Targaryens returned to take back their throne four years ago.
The Baratheons fought hard to retain their Kingship, but with the might of the Vale, and the West, and a lone dragon, the Stag could not win.
The Dragons have never been kind to their enemies, and they showed no mercy now. Tyrells and Tullys, the strongest supporters of the Baratheons were put to the sword in droves, the rest of their leadership being sent North to take the oaths of the Night's watch.
The Dragon's reign should have been strong, and long, but that was not to be their destiny. Soon a foul, oozing plague infested the King, and his relatives, soon only a young boy named Aerth lived, and was crowned king as he laid in his crib.
Lord Breyn Royce, who was named Hand in the aftermath of the war, was now named Regent to the young boy. The one-eyed lord of the Vale, and half of the riverlands, more plunder from the war. His younger brother was gifted Storm's End for fighting so valiantly in the war, and Lord Rhodri Royce soon earned the trust of many Stormlanders who he had just recently defeated in battle.
As Royce ascended so did Lord Baldwin Lannister as well. Placing three of his men on the small council, and taking half of the riverlands as well. Riverrun was gifted to his cousin Stephen Lannister, known as the Wurm through out all seven realms. The new Tyrell lord, only a babe himself, has come to Casterly Rock to be a ward of house Lannister.
Lord Michel Dondarion whose Targaryen wife survived the plague, now is Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, as one of the few men to support the Dragon's return to the Seven Kingdoms.
Ser Erik Tyrell was named regent to the young Tyrell boy, and rules from the warmth of Highgarden. He listens to suggestions from the Lions of Casterly Rock as if given to him by the High Septon.
Dorne led by Princess Emelia Martell made a power player as the war raged to her Northern borders, and was gifted near independance as long as her taxes are still paid. A deal the new King's Regent has left in place.
The North also stands nearly independent, as Lord Benjen Stark has disregarded several commands from the capital. Yet he has kept his complaints private for now, not willing to wage war for a dead king.
The Iron Isles lie quiet, far too quiet for those who have studied their history. They are commanded by Lord Balor Greyjoy, a cold man with a brilliantly ferocious mind.
The last king of Baratheon, a young man named Callen escaped punishment, has escaped from the clutches of the Targaryens. He has fled the country with a wildling of Royce bloodlines. Yet rumors of Callen the unkillable still are whispered in the Halls of men unhappy with the current leaders.
The winds of change never seem to stop blowing over the Seven Kingdoms, and tensions between all four cardinal points grow stronger.
Welcome to the Lords of Westeros.
