12) History:

The eldest child of Lord Aurane Toland, Viviane was born to rule. She gew up mostly happy and ruled her younger brothers as a child. She disdained many of the feminine arts in order to learn the military arts she believed her position as heiress required. She took to them well, learning the spear with particular relish. She scorned many of the feminine arts and only regretted her lack of prowess later, when she was sixteen and had fallen in love with a Dornish knight who would not consent to marry a woman who could neither sew nor play a musical instrument. Viviane tried to learn the harp to please him, but was forced to acknowledge that she had no talent, though she learned to appreciate the skill of others. She put aside her youthful love for the man who would not have her and took solace in the things she knew.

Two years later, Viviane still lacked a husband since she and her father could not come to an accord regarding a suitable man, but she had grown tired of her lifelong rivalry with her brother Uthor. A year her junior, he knew that he would have been heir to Ghost Hill if they had been born anywhere besides Dorne. Trusting to her own prowess, Viviane daringly challeged Uthor to a duel, vowing that she would give up her claim to Ghost Hill in his favour, if he managed to beat her. They fought with knives in the castle courtyard,. It was supposed to be first blood, but Uthor would not yield until he was bleeding from half a dozen cuts and Viviane still unscathed. He gave in with a bad grace and, at his father's insistence, left Ghost Hill for some years, granting the residents some peace at last. He went to the Stormlands and took a girl of House Morrigen to wife, returning only when the couple had two young daughters.

Vivinane was almost twenty when her father arranged her marriage with Merlyn Fowler, the man of her choice, with whom she had fallen in love during a visit to Sunspear. It was some years before Viviane managed to conceive and she was at first fearful that it meant she was barren. Eventually she had a son, Joffrey, followed by a daughter, Eleyna, and three more sons. Viviane spent the next years raising her children and helping her father run Ghost Hill, with occasional trips to Sunspear. She was devasted when fever swept through Ghost Hill in 493 and carried off Joffrey as well as her niece Brandon and mother Anna. From that moment on, Viviane had ot train her daughter Eleyna to take Joffrey's place as second heir to Ghost Hill. Lord Aurane died in 498, leaving Viviane as Lady of Ghost Hill, with Merlyn as her devoted aide and consort. She prefers to remain in Dorne and send other members of her house to do her bidding in the rest of the Seven Kingdoms.

Eleyna is tall and well-formed, with long legs and a large bust but is otherwise slender. She has her mother's strong features and her face can seem harsh in repose, but she is pretty when she smiles, as she does often. She favours feminine attire, especially silks. 12) History:

Eleyna was born as Lady Viviane's second child. As a small child, she never dreamed she would be heiress of Ghost Hill and gladly devoted herself to the feminine skills her mother had disdained. She always loved pretty clothes and music and dancing, though she enjoyed riding and archery too. She grew up close to her parents and siblings, as well as several of her cousins. She spent the majority of her time with her cousins Marissa and Morrigen, and was often with her brother Joffrey. His loss hit her hard and she was at first resentful of the duty that fell to her at nine years old, and wished her brother Mark could be heir, but as time passed she grew accustomed to the role. By the time she was thirteen, she could hardly remember a time when she was not heiress, except for the loss of Joffrey.

She was betrothed to Lucas Allyrion at fourteen and married him at sixteen since her mother would not allow an earlier marriage. Their son Edric was born a year later. Eleyna adored lLucas with a youthful passion but their happiness didn't last long. Lucas died in 503, fighting in the Marches, and Eleyna was so distressed she mscarried the child she was carrying. Her mother let her have a year to grieve then sent her off to Sunspear to join Princess Emelia. Eleyna wasn't sorry to go. Even at three Edric reminded her of his father and the memories were too painful for her. She has made Sunspear her main home how but she returns to Ghost Hill every so often to see her family.

He is well-muscled from spending most of his life in the training yard. He is most often to be seen clothed in Dornish scale armour with a sword at his side though he often carries a spear as well. Unlike most of his house, he disdains finery and prefers plain, serviceable attire.

12) History:

Arthur is the third child and only son of Ser Uthor Toland and Ygritte of House Morrigen. Unlike his sisters, who were both born at the Crow's Nest during their father's exile from Dorne, Arthur was born at Ghost Hill where he remained for ten years, growing up among his cousins until his father arranged for him to squire with his mother's kin. He showed a promise for martial skills as a young boy so his aunt Viviane made sure he had the best training, as did the Morrigens later on. He was eighteen when he returned to Ghost Hill, a new made knight with dreams of glory. Viviane watched him beat every one of her sons in the training yard and named him her champion, to his father's pride.

A few months ago Arthur wed to Gwynesse Manwoody at a double wedding in which his cousin Lancel wed Alayne Blackmont, though it's said that Lancel prefers Arthur's bride to his own. Arthur, however, is more than happy with Gwynesse and hopes she will conceive a child soon.

Mark is short and dark, with black hair and eyes. He is less attractive than his brothers Lancel and Triston and he knows it. His features are all slightly too large for his face and his fine clothes never quite look as good on him as he imagines.

12) History:

Mark is Viviane's third child. As a small boy he had a reputation for preferring to be inside with a book rather than out in the yard and had to be ordered into the yard most days. Until he was ten he preferred to read about battles than learn how to participate in one, then his mother told him that if he did well enough he would be named her champion. Mark set his mind to achieving that goal, pushing himself further than he would have dreamed possible. He remained at Ghost Hill as a boy, squiring for his uncle, while his brothers and cousins were sent away to squire elsewhere. He grew confident in his own skills and believed the post of Champion would be his, until Arthur returned from the Crow's Next and defeated every one of the male Tolands in the yard. Mark then had to face the humiliation of seeing his mother name Arthur as her champion. He was barely appeased a year later when she found him the beautiful Isolde Ladybright to be his bride..

Mark and Isolde have been married nearly two years. Viviane sent them to Kings Landing to serve as her ambassadors, beleiving that Isolde's beauty and charm could win over anyone, and hoping that Mark can win glory in the tourney field.

Isolde is the daughter of a minor branch of House Ladybright, living at Sunspear. Isolde spent her childhood at the home of House Martell, knowing no other home. She is a sweet and charming girl who came to the attention of Eleyna Toland when she first moved to Sunspear. Eleyna took Isolde under her wing and it was she who recommended Isolde as Mark's bride. She is talented in the female arts and makes friends easily. She was thrilled to be sent to Kings Landing with her husband.

Triston is generally considered the most handsome of Lady Viviane's sons. He is average height and slender, with quick, graceful movements. He has high cheekbones, dark eyes and a smiling mouth, with black hair reaching to his shoulders. He is equally home in fine clothes and leather.

The third son of Viviane and Merlyn, Triston never expected to be anyone of importance and that was the way he liked it. All his dreams centred on glory in battle or the tourney field. He devoted himself to the military arts, both combat skills and learning military strategy. He squired at Skyreach until his eighteenth nameday and was knighted a year later. After his cousin Arthur he is considered the second best warrior of House Toland and was accordingly granted the post of Captain of the Guard two years ago. He is the only one of his surviving siblings never to have been married but is in no hurry to find a wife.

Jorge is short and broad with a paunch gained from a life sitting mostly at a desk. His hair is starting to recede but remains black. His eyes are dark and seem to pierce the soul. He has a club foot.

12) History:

The fourth of Lord Aurane's six children, Jorge had originally been destined for the Citadelince his club foot would prevent him from knighthood. To his mother's distress, he was packed off aged 12 and spent some years at the Citadel. He even forged three links of his chain before deciding, aged 19, that the maester's life was not for him. He missed Dorne too much and so he returned to his father's castle and trained with the steward. He took over the post when the old man died and has been content ever since to fulfil that role for first his father and then his sister.

Jorge has never married, but it is his own choice. He has never seemed particularly fond of women or interested in sexual activity. He acts as a beloved uncle to the children of his siblings. He is especially beloved of the bastard, Gerold Sand, who can barely remember his late father. Jorge looks upon Gerold as the son he will never have.

Little is known of Ricasso#s history. His name suggests he is Dornish but, if so, he is a stony Dornishman since he looks like an Andal. His voice, however, is most definitely of the Reach, but it's generally believed that's because of the years he spent at the Citadel. He never talks of his past, except to say that he went to the Citadel at ten years of age and that he spent many years forging his links and a dozen more at Oldtown after gaining his chain. He has served at Ghost Hill for nearly thirty now and says that is the only part of his history that actuall y matters. No-one cares to disagree with him.
