His father took both Darryn and his brother Clion on his ship to teach them everything they needed to know. But while the former became an Ironborn raider as his father, the latter one took control of the trader. When he was sixteen he and a couple of friends were messing around on a frozen river. They had a race to see who could get upstream to the village first. He lagged behind and when one of his friends fell through the ice he was far enough back to smash the ice and help his comrade out earning his nickname in the process. Character's Second:
Maester Casimir
Noteworthy: Healing Noteworthy: Poision Lore Apprentice: Writing Apprentice: Higher Mysteries Novice: Ravenry Novice: Finance Beginner: Stewardship Beginner: Secrecy
7) Character Personal History:
Felix comes from a long, proud, albeit minor family: The Cassels. Long have they served Winterfell and the Starks. They have provided soldiers, guards, and even the occaisional bride to the Kings in the North. And so it came as no surprise when Felix became the captian of Winterfell's guards during the rule of Syd Stark. In this position he saw the plague claim his Lord, insanity another, and through it all he fought in rebellions, wars in wild barbarian lands beyond the wall, and against common peasants looking to make a place in the world. But throughout this turmoil there was a constant...service...service to House Stark.
When Callen Baratheon legitimized an unkown bastard of Syd Stark's it was Felix and his friend, Maester Casimir who ran Winterfell while the young lord went north to train under the Black Brothers of the Night's Watch. He was a constant thorn in the side of Lyas Bolton, and opposed the Dreadfort lord in almost every action, directly or indirectly. While the regent of the north was busy playing politics it was Felix who kept northern lords mindful of their fealty to the young Roose Stark, through secret letters and deals.
For the Cassel had acquired a niche for politics, all of it in the service of the Starks of course, and he spent a good deal of time keeping many of the northern lords from infighting or another rebellion. In the one case of cooperation with Lyas Bolton he helped smuggle Roose back from Lannisport to Winterfell, ensuring that the Stark was not captured.
In recent years Felix had relented his stewardship and political duties to Roose, as the Stark was more and more at home. Yet he always kept an eye on him, more often then not checking on his letters and his meetings. The Cassels have always been stalwart supporters of the Starks, and if that means spying on them and secretly taking their privacy...so be it.
8) Character Physical Description: Felix has a soldiers body, trained and honed to a state of martial perfection. He keeps clean shaven. Though he has shown signs of balding it has only served to add character to a fairly handsome face, if only handsome because of its calm strength...and some might say cold strength.
9) Character Reputation: He is known to be fairly loyal in his own unique way. A good soldier of decent repute he is far more famed for the discipline and training he goes through with his soldiers. Though he may be called honourable, perpahs just is a better word, for he has no qualms about doing a wrong deed for a rightful reason.

Character Name: Ser Harlan Tyrell
Character Age: 28 (b. 500)
Character Nationality: The Mander
Character Byname: The Iron Keg
Character Skills:
Expert: Lance/Joust Noteworthy: Sword Noteworthy: Command/Leadership Apprentice: Battle Strategy Apprentice: Ambush Novice: Intimidation Novice: Hunting Beginner: Scouting Beginner: Brawling
Character's Second: Melleo Nobeard (Pentoshi)
Noteworthy: Intimidation Noteworthy: Sword Apprentice: Torture Apprentice: Lance/Joust Novice: Drinking Novice: Riding Beginner: Hunting Beginner: Command
Character Personal History: Harlan was born in Highgarden in the year 500, the son of Ser Lothor Tyrell and Myria Hightower, and twin brother of Garin Tyrell. His youth was most typical, he worked daily on his sword play, and was very found of wrestling. He watched the Knights with longing, always wishing for the day when he would join their ranks, as his father had. He worked hard with sword and lance, and his talent was obvious, even from an early age.
At age 10 he was sent to foster at Longtable, and squired for Ser Albert Merryweather while learning much. Harlan was knighted by Ser Albert on the field of battle after the sack of Nightsong, where Harlan showed courage and skill befitting a Knight, though only 16. He continued to ride with Ser Albert Merryweather until he was 19, when he took ship to the free cities, to seek fortune and fame riding as a lancer in the Golden Company.
Harlan spent the next six years riding with the Golden Company, fighting in numerous engagements, and gaining valuable experience. He lived hard during this time, drinking often and heavily. This hard lifestyle no doubt contributed to his looking far older than his 28 years. While serving in the Golden company, he took a Lyseni girl with him on campaign. Tall, fair and beautiful, the girl had been everything that Harlan had sought after, and he loved her deeply. One night, he came to her bed drunk on wine, and not looking for sleep. He found her there in bed with another. A terrible rage came upon him, and he killed them both before either could even rise from the bed. He regretted the deed deeply, and fought with the memories nearly every day. His sleep became troubled, to the point that he scarcely could lay down at night from the guilt and the nightmares. He began drinking milk of the poppy, in small doses to get the rest that he needed to function within the Golden Company. The doses became larger over time, and he took them more often. From that point forward, he went nowhere without the medicine, and rarely a day passed that he did not drink of it. Despite these troubles, he rose high in the ranks of the Golden Company, reaching the rank of First Lance. It was while serving in the Golden Company that he earned the name the Iron Keg, for he looked very much like a barrel in armor, being short and stocky of build. He found the name amusing, and took it as his personal sigil. After six years of riding in the Golden Company, Ser Harlan returned to Highgarden, having gained the experience that he had sought after, and having tired of his sell sword lifestyle. He returned to Highgarden in 525 at the age of 25 to ride as a Knight at the side of his cousin Tallahar Tyrell, to seek growing fame in Westeros, and to attempt to wash away the memories which burden his nights.
Character Physical Description: Ser Harlan Tyrell is a short, stout man, with broad shoulders and a barrel chest. He stands a head shorter than the average man, but still manages to cut an imposing figure with longsword in hand. He earned the name, the Iron Keg, because of his stocky body, and adopted a keg with great helm, shield and pauldrons as his personal sigil. He has short kept hair of dark blond, with a smattering of gray, and dark stubble is always upon his jaw. With his short, square build, and unkempt appearance, he is not a thing of maiden's song, and he looks ten years older than his 28 years, his face lined from laughter, as well as despair.
Character Reputation: Ser Harlan is known to be as hard as the steel plate that he wears. He does not posses an ounce of tact, and he cares little of what anybody thinks of him. That said, he is generally good natured, and is loyal and fierce in friendship. He enjoys drinking and laughter, but when his wrath comes upon him, he is not one to be trifled with. He can be argumentative and arrogant, perhaps trying to make up for the fact that he lacks the height of other Knights.
Seconds History: Melleo, called Nobeard, for the great scar that he bears across his chin which prevents the growth of a traditional Pentoshi beard, was a fellow Lancer in the Golden Company, and is Harlan's closest friend. In a scrap with a Norvosi Guardsman, Melleo was caught across the face with an ax, resulting in a great scar, which even seven years later, is still horrible to look upon. The scar suits him, however, as Melleo is as ruthless as he is hideous. He left the Golden Company to serve Ser Harlan, and is loyal to him only. Melleo is tall and strong, as well as fearless.

(I'm dropping Lord Caron as my second and picking up young Barclay. This was approved about two weeks ago by Smith, but I've been to lazy to put it up until now.)
Character Name: Lord Lyreon Barclay
Character Age: b. 519
Character Nationality (Stormlands, The Reach, etc): The Crownlands/Valyria
Character Byname: The Stirling
Character Skills:
Noteworthy Swordsmanship Noteworthy Naval Command Apprentice Battle Command Apprentice Stewardship Novice Lute Novice Unarmed Beginner Charm/Persuasion Beginner Riding
Character Personal History: Born to Lord Emmon Barclay, the first of House Barclay, in the last years of that man's life: Lyreon was but a toddler when his father died in the Red Keep.
He was raised by his mother, Claera (Waters) Celtigar at Sharp Point, the seat of House Barclay. Growing up he often idolized the young and powerful Lord Dondarrion, his uncle by marriage, and especially his aunt Nora. For a short time Lyreon served as a page for Lord Dondarrion before serving as a squire to Lord Gerold Kellington. It is natural that in these men he found the most comfort as a child, but as time went on those people changed-- as all things do.
In 534, the same year in which he was knighted, his aunt Nora died in childbirth. For several years this did naught but make Lyreon and Breck closer, but Breck reacted oddly to his wife's passing. He grew cold, distant, and strange. Though he still was polite and friendly on formal occasions he lost that unique spark of happiness that he embodied in his youth.
So Lyreon returned to Sharp Point and locked himself in his chambers, studying naval commerce and strategy. His new influences were plenty and time passed slowly in the course of study. But when he was 18, Lyreon removed himself from Sharp Point and took the time to travel the Seven Kingdoms. Insistent on knowing a greater view of the world, Lyreon sailed around Dorne and up towards the north-- expanding his knowledge (both of sailing and of the lands themselves). As he returned back to Sharp Point he made a point of visiting the Vale-- the one land he had neglected thus far. While staying in Gulltown he met and fell in love with a daughter of Lord Grafton, Lea, whom he would marry in the following year.
Married in Gulltown, they moved back to Sharp Point where in the next several years they became the proud parents of two young children. Since this time Lyreon has devoted his time to raising the family, paying little attention to all kingdom events but the most important tourneys and celebrations.
Character Physical Description: Lyreon inherited a mix of his father's red-gold hair and his mother's platinum blonde, achieving a deep gold color with a reddish hue. An attractive man of middling height he keeps his hair at his shoulders or tied back in a pony-tail. He earned the epithet of 'the Stirling' for his fondness of the color, and his tendency to wear polished silver armor.
Character Reputation: Despite having only one or two memories of his father, Lyreon is said to be Emmon reborn. Or perhaps it is Lyreon who says this and others who hope it is true.
