Trystane sat in his tent, drinking a cup of lemonjuice since he didn't want to become intoxicated by drinking wine. He had ordered the knights and men-at-arms to do so as well, with the promise that he'd let them drink heavily when they reached Kingsgrave.
They had left Sunspear, two weeks ago and now they had about two days left of travel before they would reach the Red Mountains and Yronwood. He knew that he could have forced the march for them to reach Yronwood by evening tomorrow, but he didn't want to risk the horses getting injured or exhaust his men by a unnecessary march.
"Go and tell Ser Laurent Toland to join me here." he told the his personal servant that travelled with them.

"Thank you for answering my call so soon, Ser Laurent. I know that you and the men need rest and I will be quick about my reason for asking you to join me."
He showed that the knight could take a seat on the cushions next to him.
"What are you going to do, after we return to Sunspear after visiting Kingsgrave?"

Ser Laurent spoke easily, "I have no plans, my prince. Where ever the wind takes me."

"Would you be interested in a position in Sunspear?. I am sure that I can convince my mother to give you a place in our personal household, should you wish so."

"I would be honored my prince." He bowed deeply, and smiled.

Trystane nodded with a smile upon his face.
"I am glad to hear that, Ser Laurent. How are you at leading men?"

"I am quite skilled my Prince." He bowed again, "Will I have a command?"

"I can not say that for sure, Ser Laurent. That will be up to my mother to decide, but it's good to know when I speak to her. For now, I can name you my second-in-command, like a captain of the guards. I will watch you and see how you work, so I can talk to mother about it."

Laurent bowed, "Of course my Prince. It is my honor."

"That was all, Ser Laurent. I would like to break camp soon after first light, so we should try and find as much sleep as possible."
