As the Court moves to Lannisport, Daemon walks out to fly the dragons there. He has decided to let Joanna fly Valyria as he flew Dracarys.
They mounted and flew away.

"Race you!" Joanna cried. "No wagering, this time!"

Daemon nodded, and flew into the sky.
Joanna was alone on great Valyra who slowly beat her wings to rise into the air.

She stroked the dragon's neck with her long fingers.
"Go, Valyria. I want to fly faster than ever before. I want to fly higher than the clouds and soar past Daemon."

Valyria flew faster then Daemon easily on this day. Daemon rode with the other two beasts in line controlling them both.

Joanna turned and waved at her brother.
"Watch me, Daemon!" She shouted. "Look how much better I am now!"
She kept her palm against the dragon's scales to reassure her.

Daemon waved back, but it was impossible to understand her.
Valyria moved with her, and even did a loop in eagerness to go faster.

Joanna let out a scream of shock and pleasure as the dragon looped around. She'd never done that before. She kept her eyes fixed on the air ahead and clung on to the dragon, firm but not too tight.
"Beautiful Valyria, what did I ever do without you?"

The dragon dove low, and roar lightly. He swooped low enough to scoop a ram from the side of a steep hill, and then arced back into the sky.

Joanna had felt nothing like it in all her life. She was getting more used to the dragons now but lying still amazed her. She looked back over her shoulder to see where Daemon was with Dracarys.

Daemon was above, and behind her. Controlling both dragons was slower work.
She felt a roar of fire as Valyra cooked the ram, and began to eat.

There was nothing for Joanna to do but watch in awe. Her stomach rumbled at the smell of roasted lamb.
