Two guards of the Keep are positioned by the door. And one's shirt is covered in vomit.

"Who's been here already?" Maekar questioned the guards.

Joanna arrived too, the servants having sent her word. She was hastily clothed in a dark red gown with silver embroidery.
"Let me in," she demanded of the guards.

The guards step aside, and answer Maekar's question, "Only Ser Fillion."

Maekar nodded and entered with Joanna.

Joanna turned to her brother.
"Maekar, this was my husband's catle and is my daughter's now. I am regent for her until she comes of age. It is not your place to question my guards. Nor should you be here without my permission."

Maekar raised his eyebrows at his sister. "The king's court is being held in your daughter's castle, Joanna, and as I am the Master of Laws, the king's security is my concern."

She looked at him full of ire.
"Well, brother, I am sure your wife will be disappointed to learn that you have joined the Kingsguard , that his wife will be very disappointed to know he joined the Kingsguard. I am sure the king's security is their concern before it is yours. I'll wager Rolf Groomsman would not be too pleased to think that you had trespassed upon his territory."

Maekar's look was one of complete indifference towards Joanna. "The king dictates my duties to me, not you, Joanna. I do not see Ser Rolf here, nor does it seem likely he would be so insecure in his position as to begrudge my assistance."

"I will send for you if I want you," she said. "If you are worried about the king, go to his chambers and reassure yourself that Ser Rolf and his men are doing their duty. In the meantime, I will consider what is to be done here. The death of a septa may not be connected to the king at all."

"Until it is proven that it is not connected then it is my concern. But if you insist on being obstinate and bullish then there is little I can do. You will come see me if you want me, you know where my quarters are," he said, and gestured for her to enter the room before leaving.

Joanna sighed and clsoed the door behind her. Then she looked around the room, dreading what she would actually see.

There was a young septa from Highgarden lying on a blood soaked mattress. She had been stabbed many, many times in the abdomen.
