The castle of Blackhaven is a small but formidable citadel in the mountains of the southern Stormlands. It watches over the Boneway, which is one of the two main passes into the Stormlands from Dorne. Over the centuries, the Lords of the Marches have been part of thousands of raids back and forth across the Dornish border, with them lessening only slightly when Dorne joined the Seven Kingdoms.
In recent years, the Lordship of Blackhaven has changed hands several times since Lord Breck Dondarrion was executed for High Treason, and the current lord is Warren Wensington.

The gates are opened, and the Lord of Storm's End permitted entry. He is greeted in the courtyard by Steward Varmar.
"Hello milord. my lord Warren gives his regrets. He is in bed, feeling ill, and will be unable to greet you, but he says you and your men are welcome to his meat and mead tonight, and for as long as you need."

"Thank you, Master Steward. We will not impose on Lord Warren's hospitality for too long, but for now my men will need quarter, and our horses space in the stables. I would speak with Lord Warren, unless he is too ill?" Steffon asked politely.

"He fears he is contagious milord, and can not allow you to risk yourself," the steward replies.

Steffon nodded. "What can you tell me of the Vulture King, Steward? I presume you have heard of this band of outlaws?"

"I know little, milord, except he raids the marcher villages, from here all the way to Nightsong, and back. I know many of the small folk are afraid and concerned."

"Aye, we found a village that had been attacked a fortnight past. The information they gave us regarding the bandits was not reliable, we went south and west both and found no traces. I suspect the Dornish peasants are sheltering them, but I cannot tell for sure," Steffon replied.

"They likely flee back across the border, it has always been the way of things in the past, I'm surprised you take a personal interest, to be honest milord," the steward said.

"It is my duty to protect those men and women who swear fealty to me. I have had little success, however, hunting these outlaws, and I do not know what to do next," he said honestly.

"Oh, that's unfortunate milord," the steward replies.

Ser Tarrick and thirty-seven knights arrive at Blackhaven, bedraggled and still bloodied from their battle against Lord Wyl's host. The crowned stag of Storm's End flies above the small squad of knights, and Ser Tarrick calls up to the gate-guards requesting entry.

After awhile, the guard calls back:
"The steward says we're not to allow anyone inside. His Lordship, and some of the servants now are very sick now, we fear the flux will spread further. I apologize good sers, but it would be best for you to ride on."

"I've a letter to send to Storm's End! If you'll not let us in, can you have someone come down to give it to your maester?" Tarrick asked.
