The party travels south for another two days. Eventually they reach a small village, which looks to be doing well.

Steffon rides into the village, with the stag of Storm's End displayed proudly on his banner, and seeks out the headman of the village.

There are only a few people in the village square, as Steffon and his men ride forward, there is screaming, and people begin to run into their small huts and houses. By the time Steffon reaches the first village house, the streets are abandoned, except for one girl, perhaps six years or so, bawling loudly and crying for its mother.

Steffon ignores the child, and dismounts. Accompanied by four other knights, he walked toward the biggest building in the town, while the rest of the men remain with the horses.

The largest building in the town is a small, by Steffon's standards, seven-sided sept. It is made of sandstone, with heavy oak doors.

Steffon goes to check if any people are inside, indicating for his four knights to follow him, while the rest of the horsemen are to wait outside the sept.

The door appears to be barred from the inside.

Steffon swears, and makes his way back outside to the rest of his horsemen. He seeks out the Summer Islander, and remounts his horse. "We must be in Dorne by now; do you think these people could be sheltering the Vultures, or did we lose their trail?"

"It may be. Or it may be they think we are raiders ourselves," Ahsurgi said, he dark eyes moving across the huts in the village.

"Take five men, ride around the outside of the village and see if you can find any evidence of horses or riders besides our own," Steffon said, looking at each building in turn to see if anything stood out.

There are ten small thatched and mud brick houses surrounding the sandstone sept. They do not look terribly impressive. There are a few goat pens, complete with goats, but little us of interest. Steffon can feel the eyes of the villagers watching him from inside their rickety homes.

Ashurgi moves through the town thoroughly, looking for any sign of a the bandits having come through here.

The village's tiny throughfare has been heavily traveled in the past few days. It may be there are horse tracks among them, but if so, Ashurgi does not see them.
OOC: Ashurgi increases to Expert-Tracking.

Ashurgi returns to Steffon.
"The track is lost, if they have been through here or not, I can not tell."

"Fuck it all," Steffon says, and gets back down off his horse. He quickly walks up to the nearest house and pounds on the door with a heavy steel-clad fist.
